The location is very convenient, just about a 7-minute walk to both the bus stop and train station, making it easy to get around or to go to Magome. It’s 20 minutes by taxi or bus to Magome. We had to use this hotel since we did Nakasendo Trail next day , starting in Magome. The neighborhood itself is quiet, safe, and has a relaxing atmosphere—great for unwinding after a day of exploring. One thing to keep in mind is that there are limited dining options open nearby in the evening, so it’s best to plan ahead by making reservations or arranging meals through the hotel. The hotel does not provide assistance on making outside restaurants reservations. Also, the check in time is 4:00 pm,but they helped us put our 2 carry-ons inside of the room,but we couldn’t access. The room was clean and well-maintained, with fresh, crisp linens and spotless towels, though they were a bit on the thinner side. The bedding follows a more traditional Japanese style—firmer mattress and pillows—which may not suit everyone’s preference, especially if you’re used to softer options. Shoes are removed at the main entrance/lobby. Yukata is provided inside of the room to be used at the public baths. The breakfast was included, but didn’t seem to have a wide variety of options, so we skipped it. While the overall stay was comfortable and peaceful, the price felt slightly high compared to the amenities provided. That said, the cleanliness, location, and calm surroundings still made it a pleasant experience.

An unexpectedly good hotel. Clean. Lovely onsen - at night was special. The food was incredible. So much choice. Massage chairs and table tennis a bonus.

What a great find! Everything was outstanding: from check in to check out: super friendly and helpful staff, spotless place, very well organised, great food, plentiful breakfast,… I wish I had booked for an extra night. The whole family loved it!

Central location.

An amazing experience and stay! We spent two nights in the ryokan and it was a highlight of our trip. The food is exquisite and we were served an array of traditional, creative and beautiful dishes which we very much enjoyed. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and did everything to make our stay relaxing and comfortable. They also offered us transfers to the nearby beautiful Majome-Juku from where we walked along the Nakasendo trail and experienced the stunning Japanese countryside and traditional crafts. We also went in the onsen and had in house massages which were amazing. If we’re ever lucky enough to come back to Japan we will certainly be staying again!
