The location of this hotel is great! So close to the vibrant Queen Street shops and theatre district. The staff were truly exceptional at the Riu, and would anticipate your needs in advance. When my husband and I were coming in from a day out, staff would race over to the elevator corridor and call the elevator for us so it was waiting for us when we needed it. When I was waiting for my husband to park the car, Ali very thoughtfully grabbed me an ice water to enjoy while I waited. These types of thoughtful gestures were truly noticed and appreciated. The rooms were small, but had everything you needed and were nicely decorated. I did find it odd that you couldn’t get CBC news on the TV, but there were other news stations to tune into. Also, like others have mentioned the full American style breakfast buffet was great and offered many different choices for the guests. The only negative we found about the hotel was that the hallways have a vinyl flooring that makes pulling your luggage effortless, but it doesn't absorb any noise like carpeting does, so it was loud in the middle of the night when people came back late with door slamming and elevators dinging. Despite that, this hotel was lovely and I would recommend it to others. The staff really made the experience.

I recently stayed at the Rio Plaza and had a great experience. The rooms were very clean, and the housekeeping team paid excellent attention to detail. The staff were all nice and professional, making the stay even more enjoyable. The hotel lobby bar had amazing drinks, and the breakfast was really good as well. The location was very convenient for getting around the city. Overall, no complaints — a comfortable and pleasant stay from start to finish.

I really enjoyed my stay here from check in to checkout. The staff was friendly, courteous and very attentive at the buffet breakfast and the food was delicious with enough choices. There was online check in and check out so that made the process seamless. The property is relatively new and is kept in immaculate condition. It is also close to some of the popular tourist attractions- CN Tower, Scotia Bank Arena and close enough to train stations. Rooms were comfortable and were cleaned daily during our 3 day stay. I would definitely return if I had the chance.

Had a great stay. Was only staying for one night but, the hotel had amazing employees from check in to check out. The room was clean, modern and the stay included a complementary breakfast. The breakfast exceeded all expectations i had. Not only was there plenty of staff assisting my partner get seated. The breakfast included a wide variety of breakfast food and beverages that were Consistently replenished by the staff. This all made the stay feel like a complete experience. My partner and I loved it and would definitely stay at a Riu hotel again in the future!

The breakfast was exceptional, we were traveling with our 10 year old grandson and he mentioned it was the best he had ever been to. The staff at the hotel were so kind, very friendly, and continuously were asking if there was anything we needed. This was by far the best place we ever stayed at for service. Also the location was ideal for our travel plans. Thank you.
