Turku Castle is a more than 700 year old historical monument. It has stood guard over the river Aura estuary since the 1280’s. During its history it has been a defensive bastion, a majestic court, an administrative centre, a prison, a storehouse and a barracks. Nowadays the castle is a must visit tourist attraction in Finland. In the 1941 bombings the castle was left in ruins. After the end of the war restaurations began. Clean room that had all what we needed. The check-in process was not good because I didn’t get the code for the room. But luckily swift communication with the host worked well.
