These two authentic, open air wood structures overlook actively cultivated rice paddies for a charmingly simplistic atmosphere. The internet was flawless, the surrounding area is peaceful and the villa is walking distance to a couple of very small, very limited minimarts and a few home bases for woodcarvers. It is also located across the road from the Mask and Puppet House. While it is a short distance into Ubud, it is not really walkable, but you can walk to a really good restaurant by walking out to the main road and turning right. Our stay was for a family vacation and everyone enjoyed their traditional rooms, private, open-air bathrooms with showers and the beautiful pool. The wooden furniture was ample, but could use a few more cushions other than the ones on the 4 lounge chairs and small settee. The daily maid service was thorough and detailed. We would've liked more direct instructions on the laundry service. (How to inventory it, who to give it to, how much it cost, when it would be back, who and when to pay,...) We also would've enjoyed a list of local cafe's that take on-line orders and that deliver to the villa. We weren't able to fully take advantage of that resource until the last few days. The kitchen was nicely stocked with dishes and dishware, but arrive at the villa with ground coffee/tea, sugar/creamer as there was very little in the way of staples or basics. The driver that shuttled us was very professional, knowledgeable and safe.
