Great setting on the lake. Host does need to address a few things that would make this safer for kids: the stairs to the second floor have wide spacing of the spindles and a child could easily slip through. We resorted to tying ropes along them and chuffing one of our suitcases between the last one and the wall. Also there are no usable closets but each room has a curtained of opening that would be a great closet that are all filled with old bedding, bags of sheets and one had old window frames. For the courtesy of your guests those should all be emptied and hangars on a simple rod would suffice. Loved having all the clean towels. The slider to the side porch is almost unable to be opened . We stored our bikes there and had a real struggle opening that slider. There is a broken sash window in the central bedroom back of the house. There is a screen and storm, but the window needs replacing. There were pieces of aluminum gutter in the front yard hear the outside shower.Plumbing worked great but your water heater is set at 160 degrees which is a scald hazard.the windows in the kitchen are unable to be opened and need repair. We will stay here again as overall it proved the space we needed for a great visit. We have stayed in several older houses in UnionnPier over the last 30 years and this one just needs some repairs, especially the stair banner ster and spindle issue which is a definite fall hazard for children under 5. Washing machine is broken. The kitchen was fine.
