I went through an entire memory card in this canyon...yes it's that cool of a place to go. This time I decided to try Lower Antelope Canyon. Last time I didn't because I figured it wasn't going to be anything missed after I went to Upper Antelope Canyon. Other than the name and the fact that they are both slot canyons they couldn't be any more different. Upper is all about the light rays, large rooms, and really tall walls. lower is all about reflected light and sweeping lines. I would recommend going to Upper Antelope Canyon at 11:30-12:30. And lower 9:30-10:30 or 3:30-5:30. Go to upper during the middle of the day for the light rays and lower when the sun is at more of an angle so you get more reflected light.
Antelope Canyon is in Arizona in a town called Page. It has 2 option: Upper and lower, this is lower Antelope Canyon. Both the canyons has guided tour. This one cost about $33 per person.

The beauty of Antelope Canyone is undeniable and as sunlight filters down the curved sandstone walls constantly changing patterns and shadows in many subtle shades of colour it brings the canyon walls to life.  Here a beam of light streams through the upper canyon walls infront of what appears to be a scuplted face in the sandstone wall. This was one of the highlights on my Upper Antelope Canyon tour.  Our guides had this timed perfectly so that we would arrive just moments before a light beam would appear in this small dark corridor.  It was incredible to see a thin stream of light appear above the sculpted head and to see it gradually make its way to the wall on the opposite side of the room. #weekendgetaway #hiking #nationalpark #colorful #bestof5

Property was great minus the awful paint smell as they were painting the hallways. Fortunately the rooms did not smell. They also charged a $20 parking fee which I thought was ridiculous since this wasn’t a resort and plenty of parking. Aside from that the hotel was great and in a good location.
