New: Beautiful cottage by the sea on Valentia Island in Kerry

Welcome to Shore Cottage on the coast of Valentia Island. This former fisherman's cottage has been extended with a new annexe and combines Irish cosiness with modern comfort. The living and kitchen areas look out over the sea and the Kerry mainland. From the bedrooms, the island's hinterland opens up with meadows, pastures and mountains. Relaxing and unwinding is possible here as well as active holidays with hiking, cycling, fishing, sightseeing, boating and swimming. We have lovingly furnished this cottage according to our personal ideas and we also spend our holidays here. Therefore, the cottage has a special individual touch and (hopefully) lacks nothing. The tranquil village of Knightstown is only a few steps away. Here you can spend time in a café or pub or head off into the island's hinterland with mountains, cliffs, lighthouse, grotto, beach and unspoilt nature. From Knightstown you can also take a small ferry from April to September to the mainland with the famous Ring of Kerry and the impressive Skellig Ring. Alternatively, you can get to the mainland via the bridge at Portmagee. The cottage has good central heating and a nice fireplace (bio-ethanol) and is therefore very suitable for a cosy stay in winter and the cold season and also for workation.
Make yourself comfortable in this vacation home, which features a fireplace and a Smart TV. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. Conveniences include a desk and a microwave.

Shore Cottage is a beautiful home surrounded by natural beauty, and Peter was very attentive and helpful as a host-from-afar. The master bed was very comfortable, the sofas were put to good use during the bad weather and the kitchen was very well appointed with everything you need when self-catering. We even had a couple of feline friends at the window on a daily basis, and they loved a fuss. I would wholeheartedly recommend both this property and Valentia Island for holidays, and would return to Shore Cottage in future (which is rare for us)

We've been traveling Europe for several months now and this was bar none our favorite stay. The island is beautiful, the cottage is wonderfully comfortable, and our host was gracious and communicative throughout. If we could have stayed longer we would have. A perfect stay for a couple on a workcation, and we also hosted friends for a week who loved exploring Valentia. We hope to come back soon!

Cosy modern cottage

The property is modern, clean and very tastefully decorated. The kitchen has a multitude of utensils and is very well set up. Bedrooms are modern, large and comfortable. Bathrooms very nice. Pretty gardens and the view of the sea and mountains is amazing. All in all I can’t fault this cottage. And, it’s only a 10 minute walk to the pub.

Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt, das Ferienhaus ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet was man so braucht. Kommunikation und Abwicklung hat von Anfang an gut geklappt, der Hinweis mit dem 10er Ticket für die Fähre war Gold wert und auch die Mappe mit den Infos ist sehr hilfreich. Sauberkeit ebenfalls Tipp-Topp :-)

Angekommen & wohlgefühlt

Wir kamen an, betraten das Haus, sahen uns um und fühlten uns wohl. Wer auch immer für die Einrichtung/Farbgestaltung gesorgt hat ... uns hat es gefallen. Alles da, was Mensch so benötigt. Knigth's Town ist knapp 15 Minuten Fußweg entfernt (man kann selbstverständlich auch überall mit dem Auto hin 🙄). Es wurde die teure Fährverbindung kritisiert, wer ein 9er Ticket online für 28€ bucht (vielen Dank für den sehr guten Tipp 👍), sieht das evtl. differenzierter. Die Insel hat einiges zu bieten und am Ende sind wir gar nicht gerne abgereist.

Traumhafte Zeit im Shore Cottage

Absolut schönes Cottage 🏡 Es war makellos, gemütlich und toll ausgestattet. Vieles war neu und schön präsentiert. Wie auf den Fotos. Es war alles da, was man braucht! Die Lage war fantastisch, eine tolle Aussicht vom Haus und die Betten waren super bequem. Die Kinder hatten sehr viel Spaß einzigartige Landschaft Garten und beim Krebse Suchen. Wir wollten gar nicht mehr nach Hause 😭. Valentia selbst ist ein großartiger Ort, uns fehlte es nie an Dingen, die wir tun konnten. Wanderungen in einzigartigen Landschaften, Besuch des Leuchtturms, Bootsfahrt, Live-Musik im Pub, - ein wunderschöner Ort. Irland pur! Wir kommen definitiv wieder und wollen dann längere Zeit im Cottage verbringen, denn es ist auch sehr gut als Basis für Ausflüge auf das Festland geeignet. Wir können es kaum erwarten wieder her zu kommen - sehr - sehr bald 😃
