Experience beautiful, secluded tropical beaches that you will most likely have all to yourself!

A short 1 Block walk to the Malecon, but far enough away as not to be affected by the sometimes boisterous late nights. A one block easy walk to several beaches. And an easy 2 block walk to restaurants/bars. A very short walk to Lydia's Colmado, (neighborhood market), which is convenient for many small items.
Sit out on the front porch and watch as horses freely roam the neighborhood, looking for the greenest grass to nibble on!

While you don't need a rental vehicle since all of Esperanza and several beaches are within easy walking distance, you may wish to rent one to explore all that Isla Nena has to offer, including the numerous beaches within the Wildlife Refuge.

Dos Palmas is located in a nice residential neighborhood with great neighbors, a mix of local residents and rental properties.

There are dogs, cats, chickens, horses, iguanas, and mongoose that freely roam Vieques, and at times the neighborhood as well. You will undoubtedly see and hear several varieties of Vieques wildlife during your stay. It's totally different than our neighborhood in the states, and that's why we love it as we do.

TRAVELING TO VIEQUES-
Vieques can seem to be a little daunting to get to at first glance, the good news is that once you do arrive you won't want to leave!
There are several options in traveling from SJU to Vieques, and the price for each can vary greatly. When guests book with us we send them an email detailing the options available, along with the most up to date pricing to help them decide which option would work best depending on their budget and travel times.

We fell in love with Vieques and Chip and Angie’s place was the perfect home base. It was easy to walk into town, Miguel and his family across the street made us feel very welcome, and we can’t wait to return and relax on the balcony again after a trip to one of the many gorgeous beaches!

We had a lovely stay at Angie and Chip's place. The location was convenient for walking to the grocery store and local shops, beaches, restaurants, and excursions. The home had all we needed for cooking and relaxing when not at one of the many amazing beaches. Everything worked well and Angie and Chip were responsive. Vieques is a beautiful place, with a laid back lifestyle. We will be back!

This home has what you need: beach chairs, coolers, backyard seating with a grill with cool party lighting… perfect location to the Malecon. Limbres (a cool frozen treat) sold by a local woman, a convenience store basically across the street, …. Comfortable beds and very good air con for bedrooms.

Great Location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dos Palmas. It's walking distance from the main street with restaurants and shops as well as several local beaches. They had everything you could want from a beach house - outdoor rinse stations, a big front porch for lounging or drying towels, sea breezes in the living area and AC in the bedrooms. The kitchen had plenty of pots, pans, utensils, etc. for us to make dinner at home a couple of nights. Miguel met us to show us the house and hand over the keys and made sure to wave goodbye as we pulled out. This was definitely a place I can recommend and would stay at again.

Wonderful stay in Vieques

House was perfect for our family of 4. Everything was clean and AC worked perfectly. We only ran it at night when we slept. Very close to a small grocery store and a quick drive to the beaches in our rental car. Miguel is their helper and he was very helpful getting check in. Would stay again if we come back.

Excellent Vacation House

It was an excellent, its the way these rentals were before 2020. Clean, comfortable, Kitchen actually has essentials in it (not that we cooked much). Beds were super comfortable, the AC in the bedrooms worked great. I would stay there again if I ever go back and its available. The neighborhood is very quiet after 10pm except for roosters. Very easy walk to all the restaurants, in town .

Comfortable and great location! Exactly like the pictures and description. A/C in bedrooms works perfectly. We had 5 adults and plenty of room. Chip and Angie have thought of everything including beach chairs, well stocked kitchen and double sink in the hallway bathroom. Miguel was wonderful, we miss seeing him!

Being a long time visitor to Isla Nena I’m so glad we picked this south shore home! Short walk to the Malecon for amazing sunsets, snorkeling and dining. Also close to Sombe and many other south side amazing beaches. The house had everything we needed with air conditioned comfortable rooms. Everything you need for a relaxed stay, great location

My husband and I stayed here with our four children. It had everything we needed to be comfortable during our stay and more-including games, beach towels, beach chairs, a place to clean up when we returned from the beach, and even shampoo and conditioner! We loved how close it was to beaches and restaurants while also being in the neighborhood where we connected with locals. Some perks: the little grocery store around the corner where we got our morning coffee, the restaurant Rancho Choli, and above all Miguel the property manager who is a delight. We did rent a car which was helpful to explore all the different beaches around

Good Location in Esperanza and Responsive Hosts

The house is very walkable to restaurants in Esperanza and is modern and clean. We didn't realize that only the bedrooms and not the living area in the house has AC, but this seems very normal for all PR VRBO rentals. (This was our very time in PR.) The check-in process was good - a very friendly neighbor walked us through the house, but he didn't show us the washer/dryer (texted the owner for this information) and the AC units in the bedrooms were a little finicky to get turned on and set to temp - an extra instruction sheet for the AC units would be helpful. Overall, a positive experience with very responsive owners.

Lovely stay so close to Bio Bay

My girlfriends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Esperanza. It was the perfect location for us as our main interests were bioluminescent bay and getting in some beach time. The grocery store is just around the corner and it is a 2-3 min walk to malecon where local restaurants are. Jak sports is a 10 min walk or 2 min drive and. Caracas and La Chiva beaches were very drivable, maybe 15 min away. The ACs in the bedrooms were fantastic. Great communication and easy checkin were pluses. Thank you!

Great home in Esperanza!

My family and I loved staying at Dos Palmas! The hosts were very communicative and responsive. They shared information about arriving to their place and about things to do on the island. The house was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen is very well stocked. We especially loved the location: very close to a little grocery store and minutes from the beach and shops and restaurants of Esperanza. Vieques was our favorite part of our time in Puerto Rico, and we would definitely look to stay at Dos Palmas again when we return.

Nice Landing Spot

We truly enjoyed this house. It had everything we needed, the master bed was comfortable, kitchen well stocked, A/C in the rooms. The highlights were the front porch, which we sat on every night and enjoyed the breeze and moonlight, there was a wonderfully stocked market literally right around the corner, and it was just a short walk to the main strip with restaurants and shops. (oh the blender actually worked and produced our daily pina coladas!) There was a small hiccup with our host not being on time to let us in to the house but the owners quickly responded and pointed us in the direction of the lockbox. The host Miguel lives right across the street and was so friendly and made us feel like we were locals with his daily waves and hello's. We will definitely be back!

Ideal location

Perfect place for our family of 4 (2 adults, 15 & 11 year old). The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. We loved both the front porch and the back yard. The kids enjoyed the AC at night the grown ups were fine with the fans. We could walk to restaurants and beaches are a very easy drive. Black sand beach is very convenient and not to be missed. Communication was great throughout the process and we appreciated the tips for travel. We hired the recommended driver from San Juan who was great. Check in and leaving were simple and quick. We absolutely loved Vieques and hope to return soon!

Wonderful property, close to Esperanza main street

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The owners were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Communications were easy. The property had all the amenities we needed. Property is within easy walking distance of the Esperanza main street. We enjoyed watching a festival where locals rode horses down the side streets. Bio Bay is also a must see, we got to enjoy it on the new moon.

We stayed here four days and nights and it is a beautiful location. Very comfortable house with plenty of provisions. We sat on the porch plus stars and enjoy the evenings. The owners were excellent communicators. The price was great and it was walking distance to numerous restaurants and shops. We did rent a car so we could go to all the beaches that we wanted to all over the island and we could park that in a gatedcarport in front of this house which was very helpful. It has beautiful gardens and an outdoor shower for washing after swimming, and indoor shower of course as well.3 big bedrooms, 1 with an onsite bath in addition to the big bathroom and shower we shared. Large dining room table and kitchen. Overall, I highly recommend this vrbo and would rent it again if I was coming back to Vieques!

Comfortable home with undisclosed maintenance issues

Upon check-in, we encountered several pre-existing issues requiring attention that, unfortunately, were not communicated to us beforehand. Prior knowledge of these matters would have empowered us to make more informed decisions about our stay and potentially cancel our reservation. The identified problems ranged from three non-functional light switches in the main hallway and bathroom, a broken soap tray in the master shower, the presence of ants in the bathrooms, the unavailability of bedroom keys for the kids' room (resulting in an incident where the kids accidentally locked themselves inside overnight), a temporarily installed cosmetic towel rod under the double vanity (which fell when we removed a towel), and an unsafe sliding bathroom door lacking a lower track or a fixed handle. Instead, the door relied solely on a suction cup door handle that fell several times due to humidity or regular use. Given the challenges we faced, we kindly requested the hosts to consider refunding one day (with full transparency; unrelatedly, a month in advance we decided to leave a day early, making it a neutral proposition). Despite these issues, it's important to note that we appreciated the location and the remainder of the house and genuinely enjoyed meeting the host, Chip. Before posting this review, we attempted to address these concerns via email with Angie and Chip in a non-public forum. We acknowledge the possibility that the hosts may not have seen the email.
