Wonderful, brief stay!

The Meliá was an absolutely beautiful hotel; if I ever stay in Madrid again, I would choose the Melia. Wonderful staff, room and breakfast buffet. *I was not happy with the shuttle upon arriving in Madrid; the driver was not at all helpful to the guests. However, the hotel was so clean and comfortable, I cannot say enough.

We stayed at the Melia Barajas for 1 night to be close to the airport. The property provided free shuttle service from terminal 2. The property featured a big pool (and a small children’s pool) which were wonderful for cooling off during the heat wave. We ate at the poolside restaurant for lunch which was so well decorated and a lively vibe. There’s another nice restaurant (or 2) on site but we didn’t eat there. We did opt for the breakfast buffet in the morning and that was fantastic! Omelette made to order, fresh fruits, meats, cheeses, cereals, pastries, waffles, pancakes, they had it all and it was a great way to fill up before heading to the airport. There was also a McDonals directly next door (a plus for those with picky children). Overall, you cannot go wrong with this property for a short stay. There is also on site parking for those with more extensive plans.

Meliá hotels definitely my favorite. I stayed for fist time at the one in front of the airport of Barajas, Madrid, Meliá Barajas and I just loved it. I’ll come back next time I’m in Madrid. Everything about the hotel is perfect, the pool, the breakfast, the quietness around the installations, the staff. Perfect for a relaxing stay by yourself or with family.
