Vilu Reef isn't known as the accommodation capital of Maldives. It is, however, home to the Sun Aqua Vilu Reef, which is only 3-kilometre from the city centre.

The Angsana Velavaru and the Filitheyo Island Resort are two accommodation options worth looking at. The Angsana Velavaru can be found 4 kilometres from the main part of Vilu Reef and the Filitheyo Island Resort is situated 25 kilometres away. The Sun Aqua Vilu Reef is 2 kilometres away from the centre of Vilu Reef and is another suitable option.

It's well known that we Aussies are pretty laid back, so consider staying a little longer and check out the Vakarufalhi Beach and Manta Point, in Vakaru, 65 kilometres to the north of Vilu Reef. If you'd like to spend a night or two in Vakaru, check out the Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives All Inclusive and Maafushivaru. Or, you could stay in Maafushivaru, 70 kilometres to the north of Vilu Reef, where you can choose from the Vakarufalhi Island Resort and J Resort Kuda Rah. The Maafushivaru Island Pier and Maafushivaru Island Beach are popular places to explore in Maafushivaru.

Male International Airport is 140 kilometres from central downtown Vilu Reef. Should you wish to stay nearby, you can easily book a room at the Kurumba Maldives or the Hotel Jen Malé, Maldives.
