Walking distances to Hospitals, clinics, nursing home, Pioneer Park, Downtown with top notch restaurants and wine tasting and entertainment at the Power House Theatre or Whitman College's Amphitheatre and games. Key Tech and the Wainwright Veterans Medical Center, and Walla Walla State Penitentiary are other big employers in town. Whitman College, Walla Walla Community College and Walla Walla College bring a diverse community and opportunities.
Wheat fields with rolling hills and the Blue Mountains offer summer time mountain biking and 4 wheeling, hunting, mushroom and other picking, and skiing in the winter, snow mobiling, cross country and snow shoeing and Jubilee Lake is a 35-40 minute drive with camping, blue berry farms and cherry and peach and apple orchards etc. Palouse Falls is famous and Wallowa Lake is in the Northwest's Alps with a gondola and food bar and hiking at the top 10000+ ft. Beautiful with camping places and rivers and fishing on the way there - 2 hour drive among one of the Northwest's beautiful jewel areas, water rafting half way there and down in Oregon 2- 2 1/2 hours on the Dechutes and wind and kite surfing in Hood River. 4 hour trip to Portland Oregon along the beautiful Columbia River and 4.5 hour trip to Seattle and 3 hours drive to Spokane, WA. 36 minute drive to Dayton, WA and another 15-20 min drive to BlueWood Ski Resort just a little past Dayton, WA.
Over a hundred wineyards locally with award winning wines! Some beer and cider producers too that are excellent.
