It started when I rang the hotel a few days beforehand asking do we need to book restaurants the man said no need then we found our hotels restaurant wasn't up and running and we had problems getting in elsewhere the hotel had no lifts and the room was very pokey for the extortionate amount of money breakfast wasn't included and only continental won't be coming here again
Had phoned after booking & asked for ground floor room with sea view as wifef disabled & paying top price direct to Hotel but told when arrived not available. Told shoud have put on instructions on go compare.com which we did not use. Booked two nights only stayed one
We had a one night stop-over at the newly opened/re-opened hotel.
There were a few issues with decor but overall the large, dog friendly double room was VERY comfortable
Lovely hotel with friendly staff in great location. It has recently been taken over by new management and they are planning on tidying it up, which it needs in some areas. (For example frayed carpet on stairs.) But the room was comfortable and we were upgraded for free to a bigger room as there was space. Trevor and Scott were both ver helpful. Location perfect and next to some great restaurants and bars.
Lovely building only a few minutes walk from the Cove, with easy access to several restaurants near the water and absolutely lovely staff. Great views and a very quiet area, with access to Durdle Door trails, shared parking access to the lot closer to Durdle Door for those less eager to walk distances (£5 a day for three lots coverage), and a superbly comfortable bed.
All round easy and enjoyable experience from beginning to end.
Messaged a request and was fulfilled, what more can you ask for!
Lovely room, very friendly and engaging host/s which always makes a difference.
Many thanks.
Really lovely relaxing stay at the Durdle Door Hotel and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Friendly and informative. The hotel is spotlessly clean and offers an optional continental breakfast. Parking was available at a discounted rate which is very useful.
The hotel is walkable to the cove, lots of eating places and the coastal path. We will definitely visit again!

This was a great location with sea views and the staff were lovely. We werent aware before we arrived that there was no operational bar or restaurant. This area and the terrace were lovely
so it was a shame not to be able to eat there but we were advised of other places in the village. Be aware that food serving stops at 8.30pm in Lulworth, we got turned away from 2 places and only just got in at a third! I think the hotel is having a refurb in autumn and we would love to return after this has been done
A nice welcome but highly overpriced for what you get. Wallpaper peeling, tatty old torn curtains, needs a repaint. The room was very small with old mismatched furniture you might see in a hostel. We were expecting more for £256 a night.

Lovely location!
On arrival Rory the General manager was at hand to take our luggage and gave us great Welcome. He was very helpful with information about the area we were in and gave us information about parking and places to eat.
The Hotel at the moment is still in the process of being refurbished. So, yes there were a lot of painting, decorating and new carpets to be laid. However, the Dining area is one area that has been done and if the rest of the Hotel is done to that standard it will be excellent.
Please don't be out off. We had a good stay here and Rory was a great host. We will be back again.
Just so that you know the hotel is a very short walk to Lulworth cove beach and great walks.
