The layout and decor of this hotel is very unconventional. Tiny rooms with giant beds crammed into them so tightly that one of you will have to climb over the other to get in or out during the night. Walls and shelves covered with trendy and loud wallpaper and trinkets. Confusing electronic controls. The common areas near the lobby are the only place you can really sit and unwind but they’re awash in the excessively busy decor too. Nevertheless, we slept well and that was all we really needed.

Unusual layout and amenities, might take a bit getting used to but it makes for an interesting and pleasurable experience. Great bed and bed linens. With all the high tech comforts they should have heated toilet seats.

Great overall place for the price. Rooms are fairly small but still bigger and more comfortable than a hostel or capsule hotel. All room controls are done via iPad which makes it very easy to use. Staff are friendly and always greet you as you go in and out. There's also a security guard so it was very safe. It's also located right next to the NoMa-Gallaudet U station so it's easy to get from one place to another. Being located right next to Union Market and shopping (walking distance) is a huge plus as well. Was also very quiet and clean. Few minor gripes: -The floor in my room was creaking a fair bit and the toilet stopped working once (though that was fixed very promptly) -The iPad controls feel a bit wonky, and also means not all the physical buttons in the room (light controls on the wall, etc.) do not work perfectly. For example, you cannot turn on the wall lights while keeping the main light off and there's a limit on how bright or dim you can make things. -The shower is fairly small due to the curved glass. If you're a bit on the tall side like me it will make taking a shower is a bit uncomfortable. -Also be warned: the beds here are ALOT firmer than what you would expect in a normal hotel. First night was really rough when it came to sleep. For me, only the very firm bed was a big issue, otherwise I'd say CitizenM is a great brand and place to stay. Will definitely try to book this place when I come again.

I loved that it was close to union station. Very easy access to get to where you wanted to go. The food choices were limited around the hotel but I was able to find a few good spots.

Great stay

Staff was great the whole trip. Even gave my fiancé a couple drink tickets for my birthday that we were celebrating while out there. Location was central to a lot of things we did.
