Thumbs down!

The place had no elevator. We had to drag our luggage up two flights of stairs. It took a half an hour to check in two rooms. Totally inefficient and annoying. The place was dirty and aged. I would not recommend this hotel.

Needs a general renovation and upgrade- in some places the hallway was potent with cigarette smoke and the carpet in the hallway needed to be cleaned. The room was clean with clean sheets and that was good because I was concerned on the walk to the room it may not have been as nice as it was based on the rest of the building’s appearance.

It took 15 mins just for someone to be at the front desk, got to room and it was so hot a/c would not turn on and temperature was stuck at 78°. Tried contacting expedia immediately but because “front desk was closed” i couldnt get a refund and go to different hotel. I had to wait another 15 mins for someone at front desk to help with a/c. Tv was only allowed one channel. Garbage’s were overflown out front and it wasnt very clean or appealing. Then in the morning the cleaning person walked in without knocking at 10am an hour before checkout. We were so upset. One of the worst experiences ive ever had

property is in terrible condition, brickwork crumbling, carpets dirty and old, washroom only partially painted = overall the building is very old and dirty - horrible - did not feel safe - would never stay there again

Okay Stay

The staff were very friendly. The “breakfast” is a grab-bag option of muffins, granola bars, juice, not a real breakfast bar. We stayed during a day when the water park is not open, make sure you check the water park days if that’s what your going for. The entire building had signs of moisture and light mold due to the water park being indoors. The stay was fine overall.

This hotel stated they jad a pool. The pool is only open from Friday at 4pm thru the weekend. I planned on using the pool and could not. They stated there was a restaurant ? It was closed. The outside of the hotel was very un kept and the inside was not much better. The manager would not work withe either to discount my stay...

The whole building had a strange odor, which was worse in the room. The pillows were flimsy, the check in took far too long, and one of the staff was wandering the lobby playing music very loud on their phone. Got a soda from the soda machine, selected Diet Coke, but got a ginger ale, and it was warm. The only route to our room from the lobby was through the now defunct “water park” which was an eye sore.

Overall my stay there was ok. The website shows this great water park and the rooms look good. They have a lot of signs outside in the property saying they are not responsible if your car gets stolen, the water park even though you are a guest, you need to pay to go into the water park. They do let non-guest go in as well. The shower's water pressure was not good, the tv was small and would turn on by itself. Walls are thin, the outside door to the building does not lock. A bad smell was in the hallways, and trash was not taken out from the hallways. They dont do turn down service until you leave.

Lagoon and water park

It was a good stay. Staff was friendly, room was clean and comfortable. The only thing that I didn't like was that I booked through hotels.com and the third party didn't know that the water park is only open on the weekend. I planned my stay there because of the pool. It being so hot out I wanted a place with the pool so the 3 kids could cool down. Other than that everything was good. Also it just says free breakfast, it was a continental breakfast, bagels and danishes. I always like to know this ahead of time because my two filters were a place with a pool and breakfast. Usually places will say continental breakfast so that the customer knows.

It was dirty and old the hotel had no continental breakfast like it said it did also it was scary it was in really bad shape there was trash everywhere the locks on the doors to get to your car didn't work so the hotel was like unlocked all the time it was just really scary and disappointing

They will double charge you to check and they don’t care if you do pay at hotel they will take your full amount for rooms hours prior to being able to check in and place a hold on your money and then make you pay again for the room absolutely ruined my weekend

Avoid the Clarion

I checked in with my family and within 10 minutes checked out. The person behind the desk made it a point of stating “Marijuana smoking in the building was forbidden.” I’m sorry what??? So we proceeded to go to our room only to be hit with the smell of pot as we entered the side door (a stairwell entrance). The room smelled heavily of harsh cleaning chemicals. The thumping of music they the walls was intense and the kids running down the halls ( even after the water park was closed). Was too much. We left without a refund ( I tried to call Hotels.com for about an hour to see if there was any chance to refund my money to no avail as their system never could recognize my reservation number.) drove down the stree to the Courtyard Marriott where it was clean and the front desk to be nice discounted our stay once I mentioned we had booked a stay at the Clarion. We even decided to stay another night as it was too nice not to leave and rush home after going to Six Flags. By the way my reaction to Six Flags was… Meh?

Terrible disappointing experience

Over priced for such a mediocre stay. Pool hours are not catered to people who actually stay at hotel rather to those who purchase guest passes to use pool. The water in the bathroom/shower didn’t get hot, the walls were crumbling, and the floor had not been vacuumed. Our second night our room’s cable went out (not the biggest issue but still annoying) and all the lights in the halls and stairwells went out and stayed out for the rest of the night. We were especially disappointed with the “breakfast” that was supposed to be included with our stay which only consisted of tiny bags of dry cereal, apples, and small muffins. Overall very disappointed with our stay and most definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This was the worse stay ever. My daughter had a room with my grandkids and I had another with my wife, daughter, and grandson. Dirty bathroom, no manager on site, no WiFi, everything closed when it states otherwise on line. No breakfast buffet either. They suck all the way around. I checked out a day early because I wasn’t gonna go they a miserable time and no refund back from the place or Expedia. Do t waste you money. Too much $ to be stuck in your room all day n night. They get 100 - 0’s from me.
