Run down, weathered and aged property. Mediocre service. Felt like a ghost town. Facilities in a poor state of repair. Big rooms, tastefully decorated but aged. No smart TV. Porter service slow and only for bags. Guests must walk. Restaurant operates with limited menu and staff. No restaurants close by - you’ll have to travel at least 20m to George. Great location for downtime but need to up their game on service and amenities and the facilities need a revamp and maintenance.
Beautiful grand reception. Staff will Literally walk past you though.

Far from a four star experience. The facility is aged and in a poor state of repair. Damp and mould everywhere with weathered wood and paneling and covers bent and falling off. The whole place feels like a bit of a ghost town to be honest. The porter service is only to carry your bags - you must walk. And it’s not efficient. The “all day” Cucina restaurant only serves breakfast. Very limited menu at Herold’s Bar and nothing memorable. No vibe at the bar and very poor sound on the TV. Retail centre abandoned with no shops operating. Wellness centre and gym too. Probably only half of the lights through the whole place were working. Staff attitude was mediocre at best - aligned the the feel of the facility. Rooms are large, tasteful and comfortable but dated. Suffering the same issues of damp and some aged and worn furnishings. There are no shops or restaurants in close proximity. So you only have what the facility has to offer. Given the choice again, I’d rather go to Pezula.

Hotel is very tired! Shabby in places. Staff don’t seem that motivated ( with a couple of exceptions). Therefore it is very quiet here. Unbelievable for a 5 star hotel to only have a sports bar as evening dining option. Clubhouse reached only be shuttle and again no ‘nice’ dining option. Reviews are mainly poor and sadly I agree. Rooms very tired ( phones don’t work, carpets/curtains seen better days. Just feels empty and sad. Would not return or recommend to clients ( retired tour operators). Shame, it could be better. This should not be marketed as a 5 star product. It is far from it.

Very relaxed atmosphere, however we didnt get the room we wanted even afyer booking well in advance. Addditionally, the shower did work. A pity given the scenery and the hotel setting.

Needs maintenance

Water in all the rooms is brown and full of rust. We moved rooms due to water leaks and broken aircon. Place needs maintenance. Staff do the best they can and are very helpful but there is only so much they can do.

The second room we got (after being given a room miles away from the restaurant and hotel) smelled from someone having smoked in there. In the pillows, everything. The “Club” is a waste of time. The Club Lounge just has a coffee machine in it. Nothing else.Don’t bother paying extra for that. Get a room in the main hotel otherwise you will be waiting for the ONE golf cart to move people around. (In rain in our case.) If you had a room away from the main building and it was raining, you will get wet walking to your room, with slippery floors to get to your room, and even getting wet on the golf cart. Would never go there again. Did complain to move from the original room, but the smoking room we moved to we had to put up with as it was then 10 pm. Positive? Nice shower. Negative: strange typed up message about the tap water being brown (it was) but they gave no extra water for brushing teeth or anything. We were totally overcharged for taking the Club Room, so watch out. They shouldn’t offer something that isn’t there. It was just an empty room to sit in.

Very comfortable but the service is terrible. No bathrobes, no slippers, everything takes forever. Housekeeping is the worst. It took an hour to get 2 handtoowels, toilet roll and drinking water, which was not refreshed in the room. The next day our room was not seviced till 7pm, yes 7pm, after many phone calls and chatting with the manager. Breakfast is very good but be patient for coffee, milk etc. Dont waste your money paying extra for Oceanview, we were in room 249 and all we saw was bush with a glimmer of sea.

Great price for Sunday stay but lack of amenities

We got a very good price and the room was spacious and comfortable. Odd layout for the rest. No lift to room so you need to seek help if lots of luggage and no use for disabled. No bar inside it’s a good 100 metres away. No meal on offer inside the hotel but room service or over at bar. General lack of staff at breakfast so no clean laid tables. Breakfast was good and lots to choose from.
