Unit Needs Maintenance

This was by far my worst experience with VRBO ever!My main complaint was the Unit was not clean or maintained.The living room Carpet was stained & filthy! The unit & furniture are beat up & it needs basic maintenance! Cupboard doors in kitchen fell off. Light bulbs were burnt out in kitchen & ensuite bathroom. Shower door handle was broken. Shower head leaked. Patio door wouldn’t close/couldn’t lock it. Roller blind over patio door would not roll up properly. Basic supplies were limited. There are No top sheets provided with the bedding which I find unsanitary since the quilts are not laundered each time. Only 2 small rolls of toilet paper were found under the sink for a 4 night booking for 3 adults & 2 kids. Bed in primary bedroom has broken slats so you roll down & get pinned to the sideboard. Sofa structure was broken on the L end of the sectional. Food & sunflower seeds found in between cushions. Bedding found in ottoman was dirty. Description of 2 bathrooms was misleading. It states walk thru shower when it should state SHARED shower or 1.5 bathrooms because both bathrooms are connected & use the one shower. Although Carly was prompt with responses I found her tone quite rude. Every answer was “the cleaners never told me” or no other guests complained! She just dismissed our issues & was argumentative. So in the end I stopped corresponding & on Sunday morning I had to go out & purchase my own toilet paper. This is Unacceptable customer service!
Opened corner cupboard looking for pans and door fell off. It appeared to have been left “propped” into place. (Was not attached)
Stained carpet.
Filler piece between fridge & sink fell off with a “bang” while we were sleeping & woke us up!

Glass tower is great

Second visit to this unit; it is in a hi rise building just off portage Ave across from Canada Life Cente. Most things went smoothly, The fob did not work for the gym and we were not allowed access with conflicting explanations by the owner and security. Also time to invest in decent kitchen table and chairs if the right night We were like kids sitting real low at the table - two years ago there were four half usable chairs,_come on, do better. Otherwise happy with the plavr

A great place to stay

This is our second time staying in the property owned by this group, and we highly recommend. This is clean and quiet property. The location is amazing for going to Canada Life Centre and has great parking. We would definitely stay here again.

2 day stay for Bruce Springsteen concert

Firstly, the best thing about this place was the location, right across the street from Canada Life Place...perfect! There was great communication from the property manager. It was good for the 2 days, however, there are some small, inexpensive things that they should really look at fixing, as I noted the same things as some previous reviews: * The carpet in the living room is filthy and really should either be steam cleaned or replaced. *No top sheet on the beds....I can't figure out why, as sheets are sold with a top sheet and fitted sheet. For us this was a real "ick" factor, as I'm sure the top comforter isn't washed after each stay. *The lighting was not good. Invest in some better lamps that have better light, and add some more lamps, as there is no ceiling lighting. *Not enough toilet paper. We ended up having to use our kleenex, as we ran out. *Bathroom walls weren't clean, toothpaste splatters on the walls.....this should have been very easy to clean, but wasn't. *2 chairs provided were not adequate. The glass table in kitchen is a bar level table, the 2 chairs, are chairs, not stools....so, you couldn't eat at the table as you were seated too low down. The place was fine for us for the 2 days, however, if we had stayed any longer, we would expect all the small little things above to not be an issue.

Pros: The check in process was easy. Location was convenient. Cons: Upon check in the whole floor smelled of weed, the chairs for the table we broken so we couldn’t eat at the table which was one of our reasons for choosing VRBO so we could eat at the site and not have to eat out each meal. The shower kept hitting the light fixture every time we tried to use it. There was an ashtray in the balcony when we arrived that had not been emptied. Parking was expensive but once we arrived at the site there was a 3 ring binder telling us we could get discounted parking if only we’d have notified them before we arrived. There were no trash bags in the trash cans.

Good unit with a few limitations

The furnishings have seen use and abuse from previous tenants but the unit was clean and comfortable. Host was very responsive and communicative. The single entry fob for the building's front door can make it a bit tricky for wanting to stay in the unit with a group that want to come and go independently of each other during their stay ... We figured out how to make it work. Unit is well located in the downtown area with good access to everything. Overall, I recommend it

Comfortable 18th Floor apartment in downtown Winnipeg - ideal for attending events at CLC

Excellent positive communications with the owner prior to & during our 2 night stay in late June. The apartment was clean & comfortable. It’s in a secure building on the 18th floor with a balcony overlooking Portage & provides good views over downtown Winnipeg & some lovely sunsets, too. As we are on a 6 week trip, the large washer & separate dryer were v helpful! Excellent location for events at Canada Life Centre - 2 minute walk- and within 20 minute walk of The Forks and other sights. As with other Canadian cities, Winnipeg has a large number of homeless people. It was sad to see so many on Portage.

We stayed 9 days in a great unit, clean, all amenities, great view. Check and entrance coordinated with owner, who was most helpful every time we contacted. Definitely will stay here again.

2 night stay

This unit is not clean. Bring shoes/ slippers to wear indoors. Walking barefoot results in dirty feet. Area rug is filthy. Top sheets not provided. Only one teatowel provided. Not enough face cloths/ towels provided despite booking for 3 adults. Had to ration toilet paper. Blind missing in a bedroom makes for a bright early morning. Window crank handle broken. Shower is literally hand held as holder is still broken (mentioned in review 3 months ago). Food crumbs in cupboard and on floor. Leftover opened bottles of soda in fridge. Pull out couch bed very uncomfortable. One kitchen chair was so wobbly we put in closet so nobody would sit on it by accident. Hole in door patched with paper and tape. If you pull out bedside table for plug in, don't look at the floor. dusty/dirty outside windows/balcony are expected as the unit is downtown and it's spring. Stated needed parking for both nights and was told 'ok'. 3 hours before check in time recieved message with codes needed, found out had to download app for door lock - need phone to lock/unlock door everytime- and that if parking is needed to use parkade, which is how we found out no parking pass available. Parkade signs stated 24hrs max but we parked for 34 hours with no problem for twenty eight dollars. The location is great to attend events but due to lack of cleanliness and maintenence, would never stay at this particular unit again. Does not come close to standards provided at multiple other places stayed.

Great spot if you’re taking in an event downtown.

Was A good spot for our parents to stay back with our toddler while we went to a concert downtown. Very good location, check ahead of time to see if you can get parking. Hosts were helpful and quick to respond. The place was clean where it counted. Fresh sheets and towels etc. It could have used some dusting etc. It was early spring so the balcony and windows weren’t very clean which is understandable. Would definitely stay again.

Not entirely as advertised

We enjoyed our stay here as location for the Jets game was our main reason for booking. However, cleanliness was definitely a concern- the area rug was filthy, windows have not been cleaned in a very long time, and couch is anything but comfortable. We appreciated that the owner provided us a parking pass, though the process to return it up to the unit upon departure was a task as there is limited parking out front. We had to circle the block several times before an open spot came up so I could take the pass and the key fob back upstairs. If the unit was to be thoroughly cleaned, we would consider returning.

Space was clean but equipped with the bare minimum. Lighting in the bathroom wasn't good, not enough towels and wash cloths. The shower head was broken. The bed was comfy and we were right next to cafe's, theater and bars downtown which was nice!

Great location for a Jets game…BUT…

The location is terrific for a hockey game and enjoying the neighbouring restaurants. There are a few deficiencies and some damage in the condo. The level of clean was below expectations. Bedding and towels were clean. Hosts were responsive to prior inquiries but when asked about the parking, they did not mention they could get a parking pass for a better price.
