This trip was in memory of my husband and father, We have been coming to Barcelo Maya Grand Resort for over 20 years. We stayed at the Beach, Caribe, many times in Tropical. Eric always wanted to come to visit Palace. He passed away suddenly in July 2024 so we organized this trip in his memory. I and my daughter had a great time. We cherished every moment there. We remembered all the wonderful times that we had there together during all those visits to Barcelo Grand Resort. We told many people to go there. Barcelo Maya Grand Resort is our place!!! We love this resort. We are looking forward to come back there soon. Thank you Lorena Guerrero from Barcelo Palace for all your help. We really appreciate it. Vaya con Dios Eric.

Excellent resort. The staff was very friendly, it is so clean and beautifully maintained. The à la carte dinners at the palace were delicious and the staff worked so hard and were so kind! There is a lot of walking and a golf cart would have been nice rather than waiting for the bus which drives to each resort within the Barcelo just because we didn’t know what time it was arriving. The location of the rooms is amazing, they are right next to the beach, absolutely beautiful view. My favorite part was eating breakfast on the terrace and looking at the ocean. The only suggestions I have that would make Barcelo unstoppable are that the check in process was painfully slow, maybe ask for the environmental payment at the end of the stay (just left a sour taste), maybe the lobby staff could help with showing people to their rooms when they first arrive and the dinner buffet needs some improvement. Lastly, there needs to be lunch/snack options other than a buffet!!!! I will end this review with saying we will be back, we had an amazing time. The entertainment staff was great. Our son received half hour at the “ice rink” and I have to say, the staff member named Tina was absolutely amazing. Thank you, my son had an amazing time playing hockey with you and honestly wouldn’t stop saying how nice you were for playing with him. Thank you for making our family trip a memorable one, we will be back!

First time I was upgraded to the adults only resort from the Palace. When arriving to the Riviera the, staff quickly checked us in and we were off to our room. We arrived very late due to a delay with our departure. We were informed that the buffet closed at 6 pm and the only food we could get was from the neighboring resort, a 15 minute walk. We finally decided to take the bus to Strikers, the 24/7 bar.

The room was spotless. Amenities are awesome. Food was endless. The pool is humongous, clean, and impressive. A bit of a walk from the lobby to the room. There are only two buses to ride guests to the other Barcelo hotels in the complex. Perhaps one more would help. Entertainment needs more work, more entertaining. The only show we really liked was the Michael Jackson show, which we had previously seen at the Riu Palace.

out of all the resorts in Barcelo - the Palace was the best! overall best buffets with a ton of selection - something for everyone! room was spotless! loved the location too - I personally thought the other two resorts were too crowded at the beach and pools - even thought the Palace was busy as well - there were more quiet options - such as the adult pool! Would definitely recommend -The Premier level was a hit!

Great rooms, great staff, fantastic amenities. Be prepared to walk, large property. Beach 90% sandy 10% rocky, but amazing snorkeling. Bring/get your own gear and can snorkel whenever you want.
