Tidal Destination is a gorgeous property with stunning views and owners who have clearly put great love into their home. Sadly, our two-week stay in Feb. and March— planned as a celebration of a 78th birthday—was significantly undermined by Sweet Homes' mismanagement.We arrived to a freezing house with a broken heat pump. Over the first two days we made 16 calls to Sweet Homes, most of which went unanswered for hours. VRBO ultimately had to intervene. Both suggested moving us to another property. Sweet Homes offered one nearby the first night, but we were exhausted from a very long drive and the whole unpacking process. And we had chosen this property specifically for its fenced yard for our two small dogs; alternate properties couldn't match that. Space heaters helped, together with the gas fireplace and baseboard heaters in the bedrooms and baths, but it was still drafty. A technician eventually came, but even with express-shipped parts the heat pump was never repaired. We went the entire two weeks without it.Additional issues included a broken ice maker, missing fireplace remote, non-working DVD players, and a home that hadn't been thoroughly cleaned—dusty surfaces, cobwebs inside/outside, & dirty windows that obscured the views when sunlight broke through.We also wish Sweet Homes had warned us about the hazardous beach access, particularly since they knew our ages.We lost at least three days of our vacation to these problems. The owners deserve far better management.
