Casa Calista is a lovely 4 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom villa located in a quite residential area of Playa Blanca which can be reached within a 15 minute walk, there is a supermarket 2 minute walk across the road.
The villa is set over 2 floors, on the ground floor, there are 2 bedrooms, the double master bedroom, with en-suite shower/wc, large patio doors leading on the garden/pool area, leading from the hall into the lounge/dining area, with a large dining table and 8 chairs, separate kitchen area.
The second bedroom is a twin bedroom, with en-suite shower/wc
Upstairs the 2nd large double bedroom, with access to the balcony, the 4th bedroom is a twin room, these bedrooms share the family bathroom, with full size bath, overhead shower, basin and toilet.

This villa was perfect! Lots of space, inside and out. Plenty of loungers. Beautiful pool. And in the sun all day. The balcony was my fav spot - for morning coffee and then G&T at the end of the day! The kitchen had everything we needed. It was situated in a residential area, about 20 mins walk to Playa Blanca but this was perfect for us as we only had 6 nights and wanted to just chill by the pool. There’s a great little shop over the road which has managed to cram in practically everything you need! And for anything else, there’s a Lidl 15 mins walk away. This was a perfect place for us and would def come back! :)

First and foremost Jodie and Brett are fantastic hosts, we had a few issues whilst at the property and they were always on hand to answer the phone and resolve our problems.The pool is absolutely fantastic, really well proportioned and as a family of 4 we spent a lot of time in there. It was definitely worth getting it heated for our 10 day holiday and despite day time temperatures averaging 26 degrees we would not have spent half as much time in the pool had we not.It is quite well located. About a 15 minute walk to town, with a well stocked convenience shop located across the road. That said, I would strongly recommend hiring a car to get around the island and casino the supermarket. Lidl is a 3 minute drive away.The house itself is in need of a facelift, and some of the fittings are very worn, although we feel that aspect is reflected within the price. We overlooked the fact there is no air conditioning (our fault); plenty of fans are provided, although the sparse number of sockets in the bedrooms means having to choose between fans, lamps and mosquito deterrents.As others have said, there is a neighbour who is very sensitive to noise; we had seen this in the previous reviews and assumed they were left by groups of noisy adults, but the noise our family (we have two boys!!) definitely wound her up a lot. We tried to keep the noise down as much as possible but kids will be kids and family life can be chaotic sometimes!

Excellent property and pool.

The villa was spotlessly clean and well presented. It was ideal for the wife and I and this is our second visit. The pool is well heated and a pleasure to get into. Used it everyday. One small fault, the curtain in the main bedroom by the pool is too thin. A thicker curtain would be excellent. Other than that I recommend this villa.

Lovely holiday but some issues

Villa is very dated and needs some work. Location is on main road which is extremely noisy especially weekends with cars racing up and down and blasting loud music. Locks around villa are hanging off doors but main door and side gate all secure. Neighbour bangs in wall for no reason if she thinks theres any noise at all. Dogs in both properties unfortunately bark a lot sadly. Villa is large and very spacious. Wifi is great. Safe in downstairs bedroom. Pool is great but needs painting and making a bit tidier. Downstairs room next to pool extremely warm and we had fan on constantly as no small windows to open, bar patio doors. En-suite needs ventilation but no windows unfortunately. The agents are exceptionally efficient, quick and fast to act on issues. Walk to Playa is a good 25 minutes, however taxi only €4 euros. We found a new path from road further down to harbour, but its a long walk for elder people. There is a small shop opposite caters for everything and the slightly further down road gigantic makro kind of shop. Outside BBQ but we didn’t use it.

Fab villa

The villa was great! the best part was the pool, we paid for it to be heated even in June/July and for us it was well worth it. Our 3 year old was in all day and we even had a late night swim around 8/9pm which was amazing. The baby pool section was just perfect allowing our wee one to gain confidence, by the end of the 2 weeks they were jumping in the big pol with no arm bands. Great size kitchen with all amenities. The only downside would be the bathrooms, they could do with updating and having more storage but really how much time do you spend in the bathroom. Overall a great villa and we wouldnt hesitate to return Jodi was amazing from booking right to during our stay.

Decent holiday let

Property was as described, clean condition, some aspects in need of upgrade eg bathrooms, patio door locks, secure safes. Very well equipped. BBQ and outside area good, lounge good. Neighbours take issues with the villa let, we were 4 adults no music, no excessive noise or parties yet they banged on the upstairs wall, the villa is in a residential area, all other persons we met were friendly. It is located next to a main road, 2 rooms were disturbed with the noise but there's no noise at the back when outside. It isn't really overlooked, it's a walled villa. There was an issue with the pool which was very promptly rectified within an hour a pool man visited. Pool is in need of a good clean and some renovation. Airport transfer could not find the villa, address given isn't precise, there are numerous streets named Montanna Roja. The villa as named is much easier to find on Google maps. It's a good 20 mins walk to seafront, supermarket across road is OK, very friendly staff. We would stay at this property again.

Outdoor space great size for a few people staying together

The outside space is great pool size fab Brilliant for a day around the pool for all guests no one on top of each other Villa feels a little tired could do with some love , exterior wise a few coloured pants and a whitewash would make all the difference You go abroad to spend time in the sun outside but on a bad weather day you could only seat 4 people on the two sofas combined could do with extra comfy seating The villa manager Jodie is excellent nothing is too much trouble and replies to any communication in seconds Although the bills did feel like some care was required the price we felt resembled that

Amazing holiday

Holiday was amazing the villa was great and everyone enjoyed theirselves. It was my five month old grandsons first holiday and it couldn’t have gone any better! The short walk to the town was ok even with the pram.

Not a great Neighbourhood

For starters you’re next to a main road & also avoid if you’re a large group because the neighbour will be screaming, shouting and banging on the walls to you at any slight of noise! Completely ruined our experience. But overall the villa had everything we needed, lovely and clean! Just wish we wasn’t attached to a grinch!

Family holiday

Pleasant stay in this villa for a family holiday. Brett and Jodie were very quick to respond to a couple of queries we had on arrival. The pool was great and enough space for 7of us. Handy having downstairs bedrooms for my elderly mother who finds the stairs tricky. The seafront is a fair walk, but ok for us younger folk. We hired a mobility scooter for my mum and she could get there ok on that. Overall a pleasant stay.

Excellent communications & service from the villa management team from start to finish. Villa as described with plenty of outdoor space & a good sized pool. All service staff friendly & efficient. Read between the lines and look closely at the photos

Overall we were all disappointed. The villa is situated on the edge of an industrial area with large noisy lorries going by in the day time. The villa is in a very poor condition. The sofas are severely worn and dirty so we had to cover them with sheets. The management companies response to this was, they knew the sofas were in a very poor condition and because of this they were unable to clean them. They also explained how the owner couldn't afford to replace them at this time as the property was going through probate. This was also the same situation with the kitchen, which had missing and broken cupboard doors and drawer. The kettle needs replacing as it burns your hand as the steam seeps through the top of the handle. The crockery in the kitchen must have just been replaced as the Ikea labels were still intact on them. As were all the towels with the villas name written on them. They are not quality towels as said in an earlier review. In addition to this there were safety concerns over a broken light switch with exposed wires in the upstairs family bathroom. The management company exchanged this switch with another one in the property from the master bedroom and explained that they couldn't replace the broken switch as they were old and no longer available. Another bedroom had a loose plug socket that fell out of the wall. We were told that to fit new ones would require an electrician onsite to update the switches. The garden and pool area is also in a poor state of neglect. The sun loungers are stained and the table and chairs are dirty. The small vegetation that does grow needs weeding and tending to. There is a dusty old shed that the door keeps opening on as the lock needs replacing or repaired. Inside this there is a jumble of inflated pool floats - but they are very dirty as the shed is in a mess. The gate lock occasionally got stuck and took several minutes each time for us to open it. I did message the management company about this, but they didn't respond. The tools for keeping the villa clean are almost non-existent, there is one old broom and mop/bucket kept in the garden area for the maintaining the whole property. There are no cloths or cleaning products to clean with though you are asked to leave the property as you would your own home. This did not live up to our expectations and we were very disappointed by it. We wanted to spend the least amount of time possible in this villa.

Superb value for money, well equipped, lovely towels!!

Not so great points: the villa is quite a walk from the beach (actually I think that this is a good point as I like walking!). The mugs could do with replacing. Side gate sticks (oil needed). Good points: large, clean, heated pool. Lovely towels and beach/pool towels provided. Extremely well equipped kitchen with a tea pot and plastic food containers (important). Nice bedrooms with very comfy mattresses. Some pillows a bit old but plenty of very good ones. Lovely dining areas inside and out. Excellent bathrooms. Comfortable lounge area with large TV (didn't use) and shelves of books to borrow. Very close to a superb mini-market. Felt safe, relaxing and a lovely place to hang out or use as a base.
