Stylish Retreat 2 mi to Beach!

Summary:
20009 - High Seas: Stylish Retreat 2 mi to Beach!

The Space:
High Seas is a classic captain's home renovated with style and all the modern conveniences you need! Our home will envelop you and your family with a warm Cape Cod welcome. Conveniently located in Yarmouth Port, you have your choice of excellent bayside beaches, local eateries, and plenty of family friendly activities nearby.

After exploring the local offerings, come home and relax in one of two sitting rooms, one with a large TV for movie nights and the other with a working gas fireplace for those cooler evenings. Outside there are two patios to enjoy dining alfresco as well as a large secret garden to play games or find a peaceful corner with a book. On the ground floor there is a formal dining room and a kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals for your family. The primary bedroom is a tranquil retreat with a king bed and an ensuite shower room. The three, large, queen bedrooms share a bathroom with a tub/shower combo.

Our home is in the center of Yarmouth Port and is steps away from some great local spots. The Old Yarmouth Inn, the oldest Inn on Cape Cod, is a great place for dinner as is Inaho Japanese Restaurant if you are in the mood for sushi. Wander over to The Lighthouse Keepers Pantry for excellent coffee and a picnic. If you are in search of brunch, head to Jack’s Outback, with fresh bread made daily and everyone's breakfast favorites. We are only 2 miles from Grey’s Beach, with white sand, and a long boardwalk across the marsh grass, this is one of the best places to view the sunset. Located in the center of a quintessential Northside village, Yarmouth Port is a great location and therefore very close to everything the Cape has to offer.

We loved staying at this property. It had such charm and the right amount of space for all our guests. I reminded me of so many New England homes that modernize a bit but keep their history. Lovely places to go near by and an easy drive to so many places on the Cape.

The 1830s historic home was truly unique! I love it and we enjoyed its features and our stay! Thank you for this opportunity. There are some things to consider…..Guests can tell it’s corporate owned: no real personal touches like quality art on the walls, or simple rugs in the kitchen, bathrooms, hallways, or furniture to match the period. The property has amazing potential but is not reflecting any real pride or love. Windows don’t all open or shut, furniture is subpar, weedy gardens, entry has picket fence that’s falling down, etc. Despite all this, cost to stay is at a premium. I own & live in a historical Virginia home, also on the National Register of Historical Homes. My husband & I consider ourselves stewards & honor this designation by upkeep and excellent presentation with attention given to the unique details only offered in older homes. Let me know if I can help you with some ideas!!!

This house was built in 1833 and is a historical treasure. It has been beautifully updated to be comfortable but preserves the house’s character. If you are expecting a large, modern kitchen and main bathroom, this isn’t your house. My husband and I were very comfortable, with only one complaint. There is no comfortable seating area outside for coffee or meals. The existing areas need sprucing up - planting and weeding - and the brickwork and furniture need a good scrub. Other than that, we were delighted with the house. Questions and an issue with WiFi were immediately addressed by very friendly representatives. I’m not sure it’s a good house for young children. The stairway to the beautiful second floor is original to the house and therefore quite steep and narrow. The house has a deep backyard which would be great for kids but the house sits very close to a busy street. So, a great house for adults, maybe not so much for a family with very young children.

Interesting historic home. Needed maintenance and updates inside and out. Microwave did not work, refrigerator door open unattended, several nails were popping up from the flooring creating potential hazard. There were window ACs in the bedrooms only. Windows were nailed shut and not openable. A message was sent to the host (Delmar vacations) on day two, they did not acknowledge / respond.
