Retreat to a rural arts destination! The Inda Hightower Artist In Residence Facility, operated by the Coleman Center for the Arts, is a former bank transformed into a spacious 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom residence, complete with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, artist workspace and complementary wi-fi.

The Coleman Center for the Arts is a nonprofit civic arts organization located in the rural Alabama Black Belt in York, Alabama. Our goal is to solve our community’s issues through the arts. Established in 1985, we serve our community through our artist residency program, arts education for youth and adults, socially engaged art exhibitions, a dance studio, a community rental space.

Every stay helps us sustain the arts in the Alabama Black Belt. Thanks for supporting the arts!

Perfect Retreat

This historic property served as the perfect landing pad for some old friends to reunite and make some music. It had everything we needed, and nothing we didn’t, plenty of space, working kitchen, we couldn’t have asked for a better spot to revive our craft.
