What we liked: easy access/clean room/nice staff/safe area What we did not like:No parking even the person on reception sent us to 3 different car-parks and they were all full the hotel said on their advert that there was parking which was totally misleading and a lie it cost us £58 for 1.5 days/2 x nights when I questioned this I had no reply! Breakfast w s included in cost of stay it was terrible no seats/no clean tables food everywhere on counters. Nobody taking charge of the dining area 2 or 3 staff just looked completely lost and unable to anything all the so called hot food was cold and had been re-heated several times before it got to the counter Bacon inedible/sausage dry and cold/hashbrown soggy/beans cold the worst breakfast I have ever been expected to eat,there were children running around /no bread for the toaster/no milk for either Tea or Coffee all the now empty tables were piled high with dirty cups/plates/cutlery and piles of uneaten food,we had to clear our own table and wipe it with tissues.I am a manager of two very busy catering areas at Lancaster University and regularly serve over a 100 guests and students sometimes as many as 300 guests so I know what I am talking about.We would never use a Hampton @ Hilton hotel again this hotel ruined our short break in wonderful York and I would never recommend this hotel to anybody my advice would be please avoid this hotel chain do not use them. Hotel near city centre

Hotel very close to city centre. Rooms very clean. Check-in was made over complicated by the receptionist but otherwise the staff were friendly. No on-site parking. The hotel give you a qr code to scan for discounted parking, but don't tell you that it only works for pre-booking

The reception staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making check-in smooth and pleasant. The room was clean and well-maintained upon arrival, and the service the next day was truly impressive. Housekeeping did a fantastic job — they cleaned thoroughly, changed the bed linen, and neatly organised everything in the room while we were out. I had booked a King Size Room with a City View. While the room itself was comfortable and spacious, the view was a bit underwhelming as it included a nearby construction site with a noticeable pile of sand just a few meters below. That was the only slight letdown in an otherwise pleasant stay. Aside from that, everything was superb — excellent service, cleanliness, and a comfortable stay overall. Thank you to the team for the warm hospitality!

I always use the same criteria when searching for hotels and on site car parking is important to me. The hotel came up in a search that included car park as one of the, and I took it for granted that there was indeed a car park and the website information which included details of nearby commercial car parking was for overflow parking. I was extremely disappointed to find there was no on site parking.
