I booked this place because of high review score and positive reviews, the staff are all VERY nice, hotel is in a perfect location. BUT, I didn’t realize this was more of a converted house than a hotel. You are given an actual key on a keychain for door entry. This could be a problem if multiple people need access to the room at different times, and its not as small/convenient as a key card. The walls are THIN! Some guests on the floor above us were loud, stomping, and doing acrobatics late at night and early in the morning. It was loud enough to keep you awake and/or wake you up. I actually complained and felt a little brushed off when the lady at the front desk told me the building is old, floor is thin, and tried to convince me the guests weren’t doing extra. Just then another couple came down and reiterated the exact same story I gave. Overall it was a nice stay, but personally, I would stay somewhere with more of an upscale hotel vibe next time. Especially for the cost.

Perfect Hotel and location

This was our first time in Zurich. I spent quite some time researching the best hotel option for us and Hotel Helmhaus did not disappoint, absolutely perfect location, immaculate and clearly very well run. We will definitely come back and stay here again, loved it!
