Gorgeous place , horrible experienxe. Worst experince ever. Mislesding.descriptions..Amberly is NOT Arundel no matter what key member of staff think. Being within the district of Arundel does not mean iit is IN Arundel. BE WARNED..The price to stay may not include breakfast. We feel £188 for room only in this venue and location is shockingly over priced. Way above their station. We feel it is not worth the money and following our experience would say other venues are more deserving of the trade due to the manner of one or maybe two members of staff. We found the internet only worked at certain times. In a member of staffs own words..'Internet is rubbish". When we asked about we were told that mamy people complain about it...difficult to get on when they are needing it to run place .
The pub was lovely setting with an lovely atmosphere to it. Staff were very friendly and approachable during our stay. However we raised an issue with the management about the kitchen extractor fan making the whole room especially the bed shake and vibrate. We understand they have to have it on whilst dinner / cooking was needed but we had to ask on the first night to have it lowered at around 22:30 which they did but we felt it was a inconvenience for them to do so. Then the second we had to ask again to have it lowered and got much of the same response this time at around midnight.
All in all the pub was lovely but we feel that when the kitchen is finished with the fan it should be lowered to allow guests to get some rest. The price we paid of around £176 a night we feel we should have got a better nights sleep then we did both nights.
Lovely pub in a beautiful location. Dog friendly..did not know I had to mention that at time of booking but did not prove to be a problem. Amazing food with friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again.
The quality of the materials used and the execution of the renovation were the best I have ever seen. It was expensive to stay but worth it and the village it is located in is gorgeous. Well worth walking around.
It was in good proximity of the South Downs Way. The options of dinner and breakfast was really good. I think breakfast could be an included rather than an avaliable feature of the stay. Offer a package deal for customers having the entire dinner, accommodation and breakfast (having a smaller set menu). The wetroom bathroom was a clever function to the en-suite.
Lovely pub in a beautiful village- not far from Arundel. Great spot for exploring the area and the South Downs- will definitely return whenever in the area
Nice hotel and staff. Good food. Breakfast menu could do with being explained a little better and also having to pay for teas and coffees as these were not included in the breakfast was not good. We were in a “cosy double” which was fine but would have been even better if they removed the chair and added a chest of drawers or some shelves.
Located about a mile from the station and close to the South Downs way in a very pretty village of thatched cottages.
Check in is strictly not before 3pm.
Loved our attic room. Gorgeous decor. Super comfy bed. Very welcome after hiking for a couple of days.
Staff lovely. Evening meal excellent.
Breakfast not included in our room rate so we skipped it and headed home early.
Pub is upmarket with a 'Pig' hotel vibe.
Would definitely come back for another visit as we're pretty local.
Mellow bar & restaurant, got there 9 mins before the kitchen closed, so didn't spend much time looking at the menu. Food good if a bit salty.
Nice garden/breakfast room and a good outdoor area at back, lovely place to stretch out on a summer's evening.
Staff helpful.
Bathroom a bit cramped.
Superb. Lovely staff, refined clean and modern accommodation and v.good food (breakfast and dinner). The perfect option for anyone looking for a weekend base situated in a slice of olde England.
