I enjoyed almost everything about our stay, the staff is friendly and attentive. Just a mild warning, the room we stayed in had a barn door on the bathroom with no privacy lock and about a 2.5” gap between the door and the wall. People in shower clearly visible. We had to fashion a drape out of a robe and large towel for privacy. The shower head was so weak that it took forever to get clean. The water pressure in the sink was great, so it’s probably an extreme water saving shower head, so bring your own shower head.

The rooms are small, but the hotel is cute, quaint. Thier prices for food and beverages is on the higher end. Also, about two blocks from this hotel is a homeless encampment but it was relatively quiet, and no one bothered me or asked for money as I walked past twice.

I love it here!!!

This is a beautiful hotel with wonderful staff. This is maybe my 5th stay here. I will always come back. If not for the customer service but for the art decor adorning the place. It’s homage to Black Excellence, history with a fold of origami, this place is the spot.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely boutique hotel. Mike and Dante were so welcoming and answered any questions we had. They are a great way to be greeted upon arrival. This property is in a TERRIBLE location. Nothing around it. It's a glorified motel, made to look like an upscale boutique hotel. I was on a business trip and meeting my 17 year old daughter in Atlanta to start looking at colleges. She flew across the country. I was stuck, with a 6 hour delay completely out of my control. I called the hotel, and asked them to let my daughter check into the room without me. I gave them my credit card and explained the extenuating circumstances. The front desk clerk confirms my credit card, and then when my daughter gets there I find out the manager has denied the request due to "safety". She had Apple Pay but their tap reader wasn't working and without a physical credit card to insert it was "unsafe". However over at the bar next to the check in, the tap reader was working just fine. She had to sleep on the couch in the lobby like a hobo until I arrived at 10pm. They offered her water but nothing else. Can you imagine?! And there was absolutely NOTHING nearby for her to walk to and eat. I would NEVER stay here again. And I advise you to steer clear as well. So many better options to stay in Atlanta.

The Darwin is a wonderful art filled space, it’s very unique and the staff was wonderful, they were very helpful and kind. the surrounding area seemed a little on the sketchy side, with what seemed to be some abandoned buildings, some run down fast food places, & some possible homelessness but really only on one side of the hotel, on the other it was very gentrified with a trader joe’s, nice breakfast restaurants, and other shops, i guess just be weary if you’re walking!
