Smokers rooms need to be cleaned better. The hallway smelled like an old cigarette and the room ac was blowing a cigarette smell throughout the room. Was very hard to sleep and even stay in the room.

The room was fine for a couple nights sleep. Good bed. The "breakfast" should not even be mentioned on Expedia. Nasty mini muffins, bagels, toast and an open cobtainer of yogurt is NOT breakfast! Coffee was good. We stayed for 2 nights, our room was not cleaned! Only stay there if sleeping is what you need it for! Lots of casual restaurants nearby, 5 to 10 minutes. Also felt ripped off by Expedia, was charged twice the amount the hotel and Expedia had on their websites on the day we checked in! Not happy about that.

The only problem I had with the property was my reservation was canceled in the list when booking it say pay at property but the hotel charges 2 days before hand. And it actually cost less when you book there my stay went from 370.00 plus 50.00 deposit to 270.00 plus 50.00 I saved money bc the hotel cancelled the reservation. But the hotel was nice and clean the staff was amazing. I will stay here agai

Just a place to sleep

We were pretty excited to find a place with 3 beds for our family of 5. We usually stay in or closer to Ocean City, so there was a lot of driving back and forth but we thought it would be worth it for the two older kids to get their own beds. We felt the first night there was good, but the longer we were there, the more we noticed some issues. We stayed for 3 nights and spent some time hanging out in the room. It wasn't cleaned that well. There was little bits of something stuck on the bathroom door and walls. The shower curtain had a big hole right in the middle. My daughter found something left behind from a preciois guest under a bed as we were doing our final check of the room. And nobody ever came to take our trash or makenthe beds during our entire stay. We a few meals innthe room, so the two little trash cans filled up quick. One of the trash cans outside (not in front of our room) had filled up over our stay and then was strewn all over the ground, and stayed like that for at least an entire day, possibly more. As others have said as well, the breakfast was very lacking. We luckily brought some food with us and planned to go out to eat on our last day. We would have liked Garden State Inn to be an option for us again in the future because of the room sizes, but we'll be skipping them in the future. They just don't seem to care about the property or quality for the guests.
