It’s very conveniently located downtown next to 6th street, where a fair share of the nightlife is happening and also where the Mothership is; surely one of the main attractions in Austin.
At the same time the area is littered with the homeless so personally, I would not stay in Downtown again but rather chose by South Congress which we thought was much nicer.
Also, everywhere in Downtown parking comes at a premium, so add $52 to your night for valet parking.
The hotel itself has probably had its hayday. There’s nothing wrong with the rooms, they are fine, the bed was comfortable, but I just didn’t love it.
The gym was very well-equipped with a good selection of weights, a cable machine and a couple of other machines as well as your usual selection of running machines.
The pool area was cute, yet the water was very warm as it’s in the sun all day. It was really too hot to hang out when we were visiting and the bar was closed all week.
