The property is in good location.The beach is walkable distance from the hotel (about half an hour). However, the rooms, compared to the price (very expensive) were very small. Also, the AC did not work and the room was very hot. After speaking with the front desk multiple times, they provided a small fan. After requesting room change, we were moved to another floor, next day, same situation, the AC did not cool the room, one part of room had cool air coming in from the AC. Metro & bus station close by.

I was a solo traveler in one of their Single Rooms for 3 nights. While the hotel is interesting and in a great location, there are a couple of negatives that I can't ignore. The AC either was barely working on one of the nights there, or when it was it was only doing the bare minimum. Which is pretty bad considering August humidity there. The room wasnt humid per se but uncomfortably warm. The other negative was the doors. The doors lock system works fine for locking but unlocking can be tough sometimes. The first room I was in it was very hard to open it, and the 2nd room I was moved into I noticed the lock being permanently engaged but luckily I could still open it fine. The bed in the 2nd room was definitely not even as if there was a hole in certain parts of the mattress. Other than that the layout of the bathroom is narrow and the shower doesn't have anything to hold your shampoo while showering. Other than the above it was a decent stay

The beds were comfortable along with the pillows. 2 bakeries with coffee were within a minutes walk from the door. And La Rambla was right down the block!

Staying at Hotel Nouvel was like taking a step back in time. I really enjoyed that feeling. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again if I ever go back to Barcelona.

It’s a cute little boutique hotel. Due to it being old, it is quite loud and you can hear every word said in your hall. The rooms are small but with all that being said, staff were nice and friendly, the area is great, the shower was great and I felt safe. I would stay there again.

The location is great, but the hotel itself is very old and hasn’t been updated. For the first two days, we struggled with the air conditioning and received the wrong instructions from one of the staff members, who seemed uninterested in helping us. It was frustrating enough that we were ready to change rooms. Thankfully, the next day a different staff member finally gave us the correct directions, and the AC worked — thank goodness! Still, the overall experience was disappointing. There are better hotel options nearby, and we won’t be staying here again.
