The hotel and staff were great. The breakfast was terrible. In a city with so many outstanding restaurants don’t eat powdered scrambled eggs at the hotel. They were inedible. Sorry to say since the hotel was great.

To start our trip to Spain with four days in Barcelona at the hotel Nouvel was fabulous . The Gothic quarter was endlessly interesting and walkable for Sagrada Familia . Friendly , clean it was a delight to stay there and would not hesitate to recommend it.

It's a very nice, old art deco hotel situated close (a couple of blocks) to La Rambla and Catalunya Plaza, the latter of which is a transportation hub, making it an excellent base for exploring Barcelona by foot and metro and for easily getting to and from the airport. They have a rooftop solarium, which we imagine was quite nice, but it was closed at 10 PM when we tended to return to our room, so we didn't see it.

Staff were OK - didn't give us the wifi password, so we had to go ask for it. Room was great - beds were super comfortable. Bathroom was fine - no kleenex to be found anywhere. We had the windows open for fresh air and to cool the room down - the area was very noisy - they pick up the trash around midnight; one night a man was screaming at everyone walking by all night. Was in a good location as it was very walkable. Easy walk to the market in the Ramblas, the Barcelona Cathedral, restaurants, shopping, etc. For the price, would stay here again.

This is a very nice boutique hotel. We felt we were in Spain and not some transplanted American franchise. Location is terriffic. Tons of dining and shopping within a few steps. Staff were very accommodating and friendly.

Excellent location in the middle of the prime tourist spot of Gothic quarters on Las Ramblas Ave - 5 mins from Placa de Catalunya and Barcelona Cathedral. Tons of food and shopping options within 5-10 mins walking distance of this hotel. Tip: no need to use Uber at this hotel. The local taxi stand is right across from Placa de Catalunya, and the metered taxies are always available, and they all accept Visa/Master card or cash. Very friendly drivers with transparent metered pricing.

Convenient location in Barcelona. The only complaint is that the heater must've been faulty and could not be turned down - made the room super hot even in the colder weather. We had to open the windows to try and cool down but that let in noise and light. Staff were helpful enough but couldn't resolve the heating problem.

Step into what Barcelona is all about

I stayed here nine years ago, and returned to find it unchanged - just as good as before. After visiting aesthetically pleasing grand houses such as Palau Guell, it is delightful to step into a place like this. My room was spacious and comfortable. I slept well. The hotel is located close to the transportation hub of Catalunya Plaza. I cannot imagine a better set-up for a few days in Barcelona.

The balcony room was amazong and well worth it! We could wait out and watch the street and it was a cute view. The beds were really comfortable and we could close both balcony doors and it blocked out all light and noise for sleeping. James was really helpful. Thanks for a great stay! Jewel of a hotel in downtown Barcelona.

This was a lovely older hotel with seamless upgrades to plumbing etc. it was small, quiet, clean, and had excellent customer service and on sight restaurant.
