The ambiance is great, and the front desk was amazing. However we were switched to a lower grade room, with no explanation. The valet service is terrible, they would take up to 30 minutes to get our vehicle, with no one else waiting for a car and then tell us they had to use the restroom and sorry for inconvenience. Once would be understandable, but 5 times when we requested our vehicle was not appropriate. The service in the outdoor patio area was not great. They were friendly, but also would disappear and no one was there. We waited nearly 25 minutes to be greeted after being sat near the fireplace area. We were hopeful that we would really like this place as we frequently will be in Milwaukee, however not even sure we would recommend a stay here.

Hotel room bathrooms were dirty. Toenail clippings on floor and only half roll of toilet paper available. Had to call twice over eight hours to get toilet paper.

Overcharged with no explanation

Paid for a suite and received a regular room facing the vents of the roof without a view. Was charged over $100 for a late check out that was not asked for and not used. Left room at checkout time and told we could leave bags in room until 1230(checkout at noon) while my elder father went to get a coffee up the block and I returned a rental car. Said it was ok with a smile and then charged us without any notice of this policy. The valet is very kind and would open the door for you when there which was nice albeit expected at 400 per night. Glad to pay the 400 for top level amenities and service but not satisfied at all with the overcharge and lack of communication on this. The coffee in lobby is terrible and could be decaf it was really sad. So much potential but staff needs better training and management could use a lesson in hospitality for higher end guest experience.

Check-in was at 3p but the room was not "ready" until after 530p. We walked into a semi-cleaned room, new towels and folded sheets, but no soaps, floor was dirty, leftover trash from previous guests. Terrible service at breakfast we had to sit ourselves and then flag someone from the hotel to get our service started, we were always the only people in the restaurant. Flagging them for service seemed to be a nuisance, and then it took a little to long for the simple things. We woke up to banging on the roof like they were dropping a car, and when asked about what is going on, the front desk manager said he had no idea what I was talking about. Loved the decor and the rustic/authenticity of the hotel, but terrible experience.

It’s a beautiful hotel and in a great location. However, the staff needs to work on customer service. The patio closed down early for a private event and the hotel bar was not ready to serve customers who were not a part of that event. They were rude and impatient, like we were in their way. Our room must’ve had paper thin walls because in the morning we heard room service knock on the door next-door and we could totally hear the conversation go on between the staff and the guest. And after the staff left, we could hear the guest open up the metal covering of his breakfast and hear his hotel phone messages! We decided to have breakfast in the hotel at the restaurant thinking we would save time before we hit the road. That was not a good decision. At first, we were greeted nicely by the waitress who was obviously training another waitress. Our table was clearly not cleaned from the last person. The service was super slow. Our order was mixed up. We almost wanted to just get up and refill our coffee for ourselves in the lobby, but then guests came in and said that coffee was all out. We almost got up and left, but once the food arrived, it was delicious. A nice shout out to the young valet worker who retrieved our car after (wish we caught his name!)-Your cheerfulness and helpful attitude were greatly appreciated! Keep up the great work, Overall, our stay was disappointing, because we thought the hotel was going to be so much more.
