The Berkeley Hotel was no doubt opulent around 1990. The corded telephone within reach of the toilet (because cell phones were extremely rare at that time) proves this hotel's level of luxuriousness in it's day. The folks working there in 2025 are kind and helpful, but all fixtures and furnishings are in dire need of updating and room cleaning standards are lacking. Not hideous but I would personally make a different choice if returning to that area again soon.

Loved the location! Our bathroom was not as clean as one would like. Even after letting the front desk know the situation, nothing was done. We bought Clorox wipes and cleaned it ourselves. When we told the manager our problem she reduced our rate—we would have much preferred a clean bathroom to begin with.

Solid Choice

Great location, nice size rooms and comfy beds but all needs a little updating. The restaurant, not affiliated with the hotel, was open on our way down but closed for breakfast on our return trip. Decent place just down the block to eat but so nice to have the convenience to eat in the hotel. Staff is efficient and pleasant. Quiet location.

The property and front desk were wonderful. I might suggest that management spruce up the door staff. More than once they ignored my hello and watched as my wife struggled with a heavy door. Details matter

Would happily stay again! The Tobacco Company restaurant across the street was fantastic and so convenient for a special night out. Just be aware overnight parking is pricey.
