Our room was as promised. Very comfortable and quiet. Had an issue with a security guard clamping my car. Of which the owner graciously sorted. Wonderful stay. Would recommend this venue to anyone. Treat yourself.

Lovely lady in the Restaurant "Joanne" really friendly and helpful. Went the extra mile to get to know our party and friends we were travelling with. LOVED the bread and butter pudding (I'm a pudding girl). Best I've ever had by far!!!! A real treat!!!

Nice hotel. Rooms not as large as thought they would be but well presented. A pool would be an added positive feature.

Stay was fantastic. Beautiful rooms. Love the décor and furniture.

excellent location, but drinks at bar were overpriced

I couldn’t speak highly enough of the welcome and general friendliness of the staff in particular. They went out of their way to make me feel at home - walking me to my room, lending umbrellas and looked after my bag as well . Awesome service - the hotel should be proud

Fabulous last minute stay at The Devon whilst attending Womad! The bed was to die for and made it hard to get up and check out in the morning! If you are like me and think the bed is the most important thing at Hotel/motels, then do not go past the Devon. Lovely refurbished piece of history.. wish ...

It’s usually a good thing when something thick sticks up to welcome you, and New Plymouth is no exception. Home to a volcano (Mount Taranaki) and some killer surfing beaches, New Plymouth isn’t offering lip service when it comes to a good time. Get to know it on a personal level: Book your New Plymouth accommodation and we’ll see you here.
Do you often see big things and decide to hop on? Then you’re going to love your holiday in New Plymouth. Hiking to Mount Taranaki is a practically a requirement—as long as you’re not afraid of some bush, you’ll do just fine. Walk through the Egmont National Park, where there are tons of trails around and up the mountain. And don’t worry about any premature eruptions while you’re on your hike—the volcano hasn’t done much since 1854.
Would you rather ride some waves instead of beating the heat? You’re in luck, because New Plymouth has sweet surfing beaches. Fitzroy Beach and Oakura Beach are primo spots thanks to their consistent waves, plus you can find accommodation in New Plymouth near the waves, so you don’t have to drag your board too far. Oh, and do you love festivals with glowsticks and moves not seen since the Macarena made its debut? New Plymouth is home to the WOMAD festival. Bringing together international musicians of all types, it’s a party that fits somewhere between classy and “hmm, what’s the delicious smell”?
You’ll probably land at New Plymouth Airport (NPL), located 12 km from downtown. From there, you have airport shuttles, buses and taxis that will get you to your New Plymouth hotel easy-peasy.
