Nice Hotel - poor service

Nice location poor service sums it up. Had no toilet roll in the room on arrival. Informed staff as we passed by and they said they would deal with straight away but two hours later still had nothing. Eventually brought something to room but no apology. Staff not very knowledgeable and struggled to get orders right. Think Village has great ideas, food is good and sport on TV's but need further training for staff.

For the price the rooms are worn and tired. The hotel needs a refit. Missing basics in the room (no toilet paper), ripped bed linen, dirty carpets. Just really poor for an expensive hotel.

If you like to do any queries you have during your stay on webchat rather than a real person, then this is for you. Personally I rate customer service as a very important part of hospitality and this hotel is seriously lacking. Female travelling alone - late to breakfast after not getting hairdryer on two requests, only to be told no refund as i had booked on Hotels - will not stay at a Village Hotel again.

Could be much better

Not a bad hotel. Gym and pool very busy also kids are there so make sure you go after there timings have finished. Bar is good. Found prices for drinks and food quite expensive for the location. But in general was an ok stay.
