There was about 3 or 4 different smells eminating from different areas of the motel like there was a problem with the HVAC or ventilating system that we didnt notice until after we had checked in but it smelled just normal in the front desk area. When asked if we wanted 1st floor or 2nd floor we requested 1st floor and the concierge proceeded to say that the tv doesn't work in the room on the 1st floor! The carpets in the hallways were disgusting and there was a smoke alarm that started beeping in the middle of the night! I know Motel 6 is 1 of the cheaper Motels but I figure they could warn guests about the smells and at least attempt to vacuum carpets.....

Great night shift staff. Morning shift treated us as shady for grabbing coffee. Walked in to cops interrogating in the lobby. Not sure if it was the safest.

Check in was friendly. Stay was "ok". We experienced a middle of night fire alarm and had to vacate until clear. Fridge had someone else's leftovers in it. No freezer area, but kept items cold. The toilet bowl was black up under the rim; housekeeping needs some training or inspections after cleanings. I wiped off what looked like...choc syrup... on the bathroom switch and left another spot on the tub outside. The drapery rod was broken from the curtain hardware and placed inside the window sill. I cleaned the removable AC filters - they were full of lint, but not pet hair or pollen. Bed was comfortable enough. Flat linens used. Lights are not comfortable but TV was OK. Plenty of channels. The wifi was too slow and intermittent to use my ipad. It's a minimalist room and stay but that's expected at Motel 6. I'm just extra picky about the cleanliness of guest rooms, from my background. The coffee in lobby in a.m. was decent. No sugar replacement offered. I'd stay again, as it was what I expected in amenities.

The first room we went into the toilet was stopped up and we didn't use it yet. The second room smelled really bad like cat pee and was dirty, you could not breath in the room. Third room was clean, and you could breath. The young man working was very nice and helpful.
