The place was dirty. Stuff laying on the floor in n stair cases. Dirt on floors. My Uber driver told me that this Red Lion has a contract with the company of Boise to house homeless people. No air conditioning. Extremely hot in my room. My TV remote didn’t work. Limited channels. The whole place smells of cigarette smoke. I got a new hotel even though my room was paid for, for 2 days. The parking lot had garbage everywhere.

We had to ask 3 times for a room change and finally convinced them at 11pm- when we said our room was covered in trash and dirty socks upon check in, they didn’t even have a trash bag to offer us, they just handed us some air freshener. The whole room absolutely stunk like a dying animal and we were literally debating sleeping in the car because it smelled so bad. Then they finally gave us a new room after 11pm after insisting there were no rooms available. The staff was very friendly and apologetic- but the problem was they were so understaffed and housekeeping was non existent. Front desk lady was amazing it really wasn’t her fault. But this place was absolutely nasty.

The room would get way to hot the ac didn't work had the have the porch door open, the Wi-Fi didnt work at our room, room smelled like dog pee in the closet, ..there wasnt anyother way into the hotel but the front door all the side doors locked were broken or shut off ...thur out the day and night there were times there wasnt anyone at the desk....saw a guy that looked like a guest walk out if the back room for employees only..

NASTIEST HOTEL IVE EVER STEPPED FOOT IN!

DO NOT STAY HERE! this was the nastiest hotel ive ever stayed in, and would never recommend anyone to spend their money here! There was bodily fluids all over the room, every piece of furniture was broken and disgusting. It looked like they didnt even attempt to clean the room. Hair all over the bed and under the covers. Oh and dont forget the brown water from the bathtub. Not to mention the lady receptionist was rude and disrespectful and not helpful at all. And we ended up moving rooms and the second was just as disgusting! Their pictures on the website are very outdated and their description is all bold face lies! Whoever is in charge of this place should consider hiring some competant workers or closing the doors and letting the homeless people stay here. Its absolutely disgusting that this place is taking peoples money.

It was ok for a one night stop on the road but would not choose to stay at this hotel again. The room was dated with signs of wear and tear and some areas of the room had not been cleaned well (microwave and chair) Staff were friendly and helpfulz The area around the hotel is not great and when we arrived there was a homeless man going through garbage and a lady with her dog having a meltdown, being there with my infant son made me more wary and concerned for our safety. Do not get a room next to the elevator as you hear the elevator all night.

Had to change rooms because the thermostat was hanging off the wall and even though it was set to the lowest possible temperature, the heater was on full blast. Screen door was barely operational and ripped apart. There was some questionable spray of substance on the sliding glass door to the balcony. Once we switched to the new room, screen door and slider were almost identical, there was someone's food in the fridge (which barely worked), and the entire place was run down and sad. I've stayed at Motel 6's that were in better shape and cleaner, with more professional staff. The staff were all unprofessional, cussing all the time about their jobs (including the housekeeping ladies as we were leaving, basically yelling in the hallway about all the stuff they had to clean). When I brought up our issues during checkout, the front desk guy said he just worked there part time and didn't really care about our experience. NEVER stay at this location! I'll never be booking a room at a Red Lion again.

Hotel was extremely dirty, tv didn’t work and they didn’t even try to fix it, breakfast was inedible. There was hair all over in the bed, dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at.

This is a low rating but has nothing g to do with the staff. They were amazing. All of them. The hotel property? Rooms, and overall condition was poor. The bed was clean and comfy, nothing else about the room was anywhere close to clean. Dust everywhere, completely run down. Grown water for the shower. The area around the hotel is TRASH!! I should have done more due diligence before booking this. I was unaware until my first night that there’s a homeless shelter right next to the property and the hotel itself is used for overflow for the homeless shelter. Sounds rude to say but how is that not an alert or something on the booking site? That is unsafe and unsanitary to share rooms and a property with homeless. Garbage was piled up everywhere on the exterior of the property everyday. There are dozens of broken down cars, piled to the roof with garbage and personal belongings inside the cars in the parking lot. My first night I checked in late so just grabbed a bite at the bar/cafe. Sharing the car with homeless crackheads isn’t ideal. The bartender was awesome though. This property needs a massive overhaul and should either be a homeless shelter or a hotel, it should not be both. I’ve never stayed somewhere I felt so unsafe and Boise is a small town that doesn’t have the feel of danger in many area. Unfortunately, this hotel is one of the few unsafe areas
