Overall the hotel was excellent the only downside was the room I stayed at was facing the street and all through the night loud trucks including garbage trucks would come by making it very difficult to sleep even with a fan going on. Ear plugs needed.

This is a great hotel if you are planning to visit all of the Boston historical sites. It is one block away from Boston Commons, where the Freedom Trail starts. All of the major downtown historic sites were no more than a twenty minute walk from the hotel. Many excellent restaurants were also only a few blocks away. Even navigating to and from picking up our rental car for the rest of our trip was very convenient and easy. We also really appreciated the seemingly unlimited supply of bottled water they let us have (historical walking is thirsty business). Some people may consider the rooms to be small, but they are actually perfectly sized for one of the oldest cities in our country. I would recommend asking to stay in the quiet part of the hotel. It really helped us by cutting down on the city noise my mom and I are not used to.

Room was small but comfortable and very clean. Staff were great.Location/central great in downtown area. However my room faced the university residences- on the side street off Washington. It was unbelievably noisy early am (6:00) on both days as the garbage and delivery trucks loaded/unloaded there!
