The room I had during this stay was very quiet and had blackout curtains. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom show aging. The complimentary breakfast was good with gluten free options. However no boiled eggs/fried eggs/omelette options available only scrambled eggs.

*AVOID AVOID AVOID* The beds here are small and feel cheap, they’ve clearly replaced king size beds with standard doubles that guarantee no space and no sleep. Adequate for single travellers; but very lousy for couples. We got moved to HIX Stansted here after HIX Braintree moved our booking; arrived tired and late around 23:30, and I’m writing this at 02:21 having just had to pay £100 for a second room in order that my wife and I both get some sleep. Photos attached to show how narrow bed is compared with the built-in headboard from previous beds.

The breakfast and overall service were excellent. The bed was quite uncomfortable and mad sleeping difficult (even after a bottle of red wine!). I was also disappointed to find that my IHG “points” were not applied because I booked through Expedia! I may have missed this when booking but, if it wasn’t made clear, it should be!
