Holiday In British Virgin Islands

We know your type: long blond beaches with blue skies and sparkling waters. Oh yeah, and great personality. Well, your next holiday in the British Virgin Islands will have all of the above.

Take a romantic getaway to the secluded beaches and luxey resort towns, or go rogue on a solocation with heaps of tropical adventure and just as much pampering #goals. With four sand-lined main islands and several tiny islets to choose from, you may leave with 99 problems, but a beach ain’t one. Escape the distractions of your daily life and really refocus your priorities on what matters…achieving the perfect tan and ticking “Swim in the Caribbean Sea” off your bucket list. Priority one: Save time and mad cash on British Virgin Islands packages and catch the next wave!

Things to Do in British Virgin Islands

The best things to do on holidays to the British Virgin Islands are the islands. Before you get carried away in the ocean breeze, pick up one of our British Virgin Islands car hire options and take a drive out to Sage Mountain on Tortola Island. From the top, look east to catch a glimpse of Road Town, the capital city. Make your way over to Road Town to putter around the harbour before catching a ferry over to Salt Island to see the RMS Rhone Marine Park, an underwater nature preserve and the site of a wrecked steamer. When you’re ready for a warm soak, float on over to The Baths on the southwest side of Virgin Gorda. No, they aren’t coastal bath tubs. Yes, the baths are tide pools formed by volcanic rock. And yes, “Virgin Gorda” means “Fat Virgin”. Wanna escape civilisation big time? Sail out to Anegada. It’s the northernmost island in the archipelago and super laid-back. Formed from coral and limestone, Anegada is the location of Horseshoe Reef, the longest coral reef in the Caribbean and a great place to be very, very lazy.

Shopping, Dining & Nightlife

On your upcoming British Virgin Islands holiday you probably won’t fill an extra suitcase with swag, because the islands and locals are more about experiences than stuff (just like you, right?). That said, you can still go on a shopping spree back in Road Town. Pick up handicrafts, one-of-a-kind jewellery and local spices along Main Street. Give them to your friends when you get home. Or us. We’re not picky.

Next, it’s time to load up on all those tropical treats you’ll start craving as soon as you see scones smothered in guava jam and a tray of coconut tarts. Sure, Virgin Islanders eat savoury cuisine, too. Caribbean food is spicy, hearty and full of starches and seafood. Spoil yourself with grilled prawns and coconut yams, then wash it all down with rum from nearby distilleries.

Speaking of the rum, the nightlife is as easygoing as the sweet golden libation. You won’t find a rowdy club scene, but chill out in a low-key bar on Tortola or head to the beach with new friends and stunning sunsets. Bring the camera!
