This is a good size hotel. not too big but not small at all. just a short bus ride away from the mall. Only negative comment I have was the food selection. Food was just Ok. the food at the Xcaret buffet was a lot better.

The staff were all incredible friendly and always ready to serve you . We had very bad weather rained every day for 7 days would of liked more activity inside main loby only one day Israel the activitu director had lots of fun games and people were super happy made the day not so depressing with the rain Israel had so much great energy always making people laugh . Wish i knew this locatiin was under construction not alway fun sitting by the pool to hear hammer, saw, and drill noise all day long. But here again we went on the beach to avoid the noise when it wasn't raining

Travelled with my 18month old and her grandma. I would say that what you see is what you get. The resort is small but it is perfect for either a place to stay if you plan to explore or if you really don’t need much. The staff were lovely and so sweet to my baby. The food selection wasn’t huge but we found some favourites and it was fine. They have a wood fire pizza oven at the snack bar which was a fan favourite as well. The gym is small but had what I needed to get my workouts in while away, which is all I wanted for the week. Other reviews pointed out the building under construction beside the resort and I would say that it is certainly an eye sore. While it didn’t impact the fun we had, it is very obvious and the noise is quite noticeable at times if they are drilling or doing something loud. So if this would bother you, definitely go elsewhere. It also impacted the view and the sun. Because the sun sets right behind the building in the afternoon, this created shade and we needed to move to stay in the sun. Not a huge issue for us but it did block the sun for apart of the afternoon.

Property is small with very limited food options without a reservation. Best to make reservations for the entire stay first day as they fill up quickly. Most of the staff is very helpful and friendly. Walls are” thin” so hopefully your neighbors are respectful and reasonably quiet. 😉

The entire floor we stayed on had a musty smell to it. There were towels outside the doors to the access panels to capture moisture but they smelled. The property next door had constant construction so by the pool it was noisy. The beds were hard and there weren’t any warm blankets.

The spa was nice, expensive but good. Making dinner reservations was confusing because the internet wasn’t connecting. Pool lunches were the same everyday and pretty boring. All staff were exceptional. Entertainment was good. Rained for four days so not much activities outdoors. Emannuel, in activities went above & beyond to please the guests & is an outstanding young man.

Generally good experience, right in front of ocean, miles of beaches to walk around and enjoy. Staff was generally courteous and helpful. Food options could be a little better.

This was our 4th time at the GR Solaris, with the last time being in April. Not sure if they changed vendors since then or what, but the alcoholic beverages were not good. They tasted like diet mixers were used, and the fruit drinks tasted very artificial (rather than like real fruit). The food was okay - nothing special. On a positive note - the staff is very friendly and hard working, and the facility is very clean. I think we will look for a new place to stay next time we go to Cancun.
