I will start by saying the pool is awesome and huge, there is no lack of lounge chairs and pools. The food was decent, we asked for a spoon by another waiter in the restaurant and they responded with ‘ask your waiter for a spoon’. We ended up getting our bag stolen at Isla Mujeres and our passports were inside that bag. The hotel did not help us in any way on where the police station was located and because our bag wasn’t stolen there at the property they attempted in no way to even point us in the right direction, they said ‘ask the taxi driver’. The rooms are ok, very outdated and small. The check out is also not very convenient. All in all, there’s better all inclusive resorts to stay at.

I really enjoyed this resort. The staff were friendly and engaging. The only downside would be the smell. There was this strong sulfur smell around the entire property. It was noticeable; especially when you left the property for an excursion.

The property I stayed at was the Sunrise location. It seemed a little dated. While the selection of food and the buffet was good, the restaurants seemed a little bland for the price compared to other all inclusive resorts. The mixed drinks were good though. The issues I had were the hard sell of the / timeshare package, the fake resort credits and the confusion on transportation. We traveled with a group of 12 people and they tried to charge us for private transportation knowing that we wanted standard transportation, which is half the cost. Then after that reservation was charged to the main room, mind you, we paid for 5 rooms total, they tried to double charge us for transportation both ways. It was almost like we were held hostage before we could leave. We almost missed our flight trying to fix the error. Second, the store credits. With our rooms we had $500 in resort credits. They could be used for different things but of course what they could be used for was jacked up in price. For instance, a standard spa massage was $300 for 1 hour! I'm sure they aren't paying the staff $50 per hour. At the gift shop, all you could use the credit for was for overpriced subpar cigars or tequila. In the end, I didn't even use the credits. Last, was the timeshare presentation. It was the typical "let me talk to my manager" trick and let me offer one more thing. For the price of this property, you would think they wouldn't use sleazy tactics to sell you overpriced packages.

The property and staff was great. I think the beds were full size, for 2 people (my teenager and I) was a bit too small. I also didn't like the fact that we had to pay 16% on the resort credits. Other than that it was a great trip.

Terrible experience – ruined our vacation and endangered my husband’s life Our stay at Moon Palace Cancun was beyond disappointing—it was dangerous. We arrived with three children and were shocked to find our rooms were not connected, despite requesting this during booking. We had no choice but to pay over $2,200 extra to upgrade just so we could stay together as a family. Shortly after arriving, my husband became violently ill from the food. He was vomiting, had severe diarrhea, and ended up vomiting blood. We urgently called for medical help, but the on-site doctor was busy. Staff were unhelpful, and when we called 911, we were told to take a taxi or Uber to the hospital. This was a terrifying, life-threatening experience. The food was horrible—no fresh fruit, barely edible options, and the whole place smelled like rotten beans or sewage. We felt unsafe and left after only two nights. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone—especially families. We are still shaken and demand a refund for the upgrade and unused nights. This property should not be marketed as a luxury or family-friendly resort.

This was a good stay, transportation was a little slow moving around the resort. Food was great needed more late night activities but overall it was a good stay.

Frowned upon us for booking thru Expedia. Did not offer us transportation from and to the airport being we booked thru Expedia. High high pressure sales tactics used to sell you membership/time share and Karen was rude and unprofessional. Some golf cart drivers around the facility were rude.

Property was nice and clean the beach by sunrise hotel smells due to seaweed Be prepared to be offered a tour to become apart of their elite club it is very expensive The food is okay Most of the staff is extremely friendly and helpful there were a few that were rude

Not 5 star hotel. Expensive for what you pay. Plus, sadly the hotel group is money hungry rather than caring about good customer service. I would not recommend this place for anyone who goes to Cancun and wants quality.

Food is not an issue even if you are vegetarians. You cannot access the beach and weeds here have a strong smell. Such turn off. Time share folks always trying to sell their package. Resort credit is useless and everyone in the resort offers different perks 😃 One time visit.

Airport transportation was all messed up when I arrived. No Expedia reps and had to pay $110 for a hot cab to the resort. The 2 out of 3 elevators to my room floor level didn't work most of the time. Wait service was slow in the restaurants. It took 10 minutes to just get a coke and I was sitting 50 feet from the beverage station. My 500 Resort credit points was a scam because there were very, very minimal items to use it on. A lot of the food items in the buffets looked very suspect and were barely warm with possibility of being unhealthy. When I checked out, a resort customer service person asked about my stay at the last minute as I was getting ready to go to the airport. I told him the problems and he said he could give me a voucher for half price in a future stay. The shuttle was leaving shortly and he said he could not email me the voucher because it takes time to generate it with all the problems I outlined to him. Just not right with all the problems I had.
