Staff is fantastic. Always cleaning the property. Bartenders have that special knack of remembering what you like. Food at buffet seems the same for lunch and dinner, but you'll find something to eat. Steak at specialty restaurants is horrible, but other entrees are decent. Rooms outdated, but comfortable.

Rooms have little insulation so you can hear other guests and I heard the housekeeping staff pretty much every morning around 8 am cleaning and knocking on doors. Also guests were very noisey and woke me up 2-4 am most mornings. I was promised restocking of refreshments every 2 days which never happened also little to no soap and toiletries in my room bathroom. Overall I wouldn’t stay here again

Staff was amazing and friendly! Food was descent, our favorite was the Asian restaurant. Pools were great. I do wish there were more chairs by the pools as they were always taken super early. Jacuzzi also isn’t hot, it was cold. Silent disco night was great. Drinks were delicious and love that the staff go to you in the pool and ask if you need anything else. Close proximity to downtown area. Super walkable. Yolanda the bartender was amazing!

Our recent stay at RIU Cancún was far from what we had anticipated, especially given the resort’s reputation and advertised standards. Dining and Food Safety: The buffet raised serious concerns, as food was frequently served at unsafe temperatures, posing potential health risks. The specialty restaurants offered limited, repetitive menus with little variety or creativity. When we addressed these issues with management, they simply offered us a meal at one of the resort’s upscale restaurants—a service already included in the all-inclusive package. This response did little to alleviate our concerns. Room Conditions and Hygiene: Our room experienced numerous maintenance and cleanliness issues, the most concerning being the presence of pests—unacceptable for a resort of this caliber. Despite reporting the maintenance problems, they remained unresolved throughout our stay. Additionally, when illness forced us to stay in our room, we were shocked to find that no room service was available, leaving us without food or assistance when we needed it most. Customer Service The service throughout the resort was lackluster. Staff members were neither friendly nor attentive, and when we raised concerns, they were met with indifference. There was no follow-up or effort to improve our experience, and the overall hospitality fell well below expectations for a resort. Entertainment and Misleading Amenities The resort advertises its RIU Pool Parties as a key attraction, but these events ar

We love the RIU for all of the fun and entertainment. Room service did a great job each day and we absolutely loved the VIEW looking right out onto the Caribbean Sea. The RIU parties were a blast and all of the night shows and crazy games during the day were awesome. Room itself looked outdated and shower kept spilling out and leaking on the floor. The food was not great. The steakhouse was good and the buffet was pretty good. The waitstaff for meals was very good- friendly and attentive but the quality of the food could have been a little better. Drinks were good- not super watered down like some other places. Overall we felt very safe and enjoyed our stay. I will definitely go to a RIU again.
