A modern hotel and we liked that there were kitchen appliances. We visited in the middle of March for two nights. The heating system didn’t work so we notified the front desk and she said they accidentally put it on AC. It worked and then in the middle of the night, it started blowing cold air again. We again slept in the freezing room for the second night. The manager was supposed to get back to us but no response. Poor hotel management and did not get any compensation or accomodation. Would not recommend unless you need the kitchen.

The room & facilities were great. The location was perfect- great view next to the castle & 3 min walk to Grassmarket. The breakfast was a bit of a let down - £16.95 for a full breakfast & half of the items were missing - had to ask for them to be topped up & then had to wait almost 10 mins for them to arrive. Most of the other items were cold & our friend even asked for hers to be heated up in the microwave. Was not worth the £16.95

We loved the staff at Wilde so friendly and outgoing. We were less enamored with our rooms. Some things in both rooms we had didn’t function properly (blinds, lights, etc). Room was either freezing ir we had the heat off or felt like a furnace or we had it on. We also found that the “apartment” part of the room was not well utilized by us. We could have gotten by with just a kettle to get more room around the bed area. All in all, we wouldn’t stay again. Though we do thank the staff for their very warm welcome.
