It wasn’t easy to find the hotel whose entrance was inside a small shopping mall/retail space. However, there was a small stand up “Indigo” sign just outside the entrance to the building. The elevator to my section of the building was outside the reception area, past some retail businesses, and in a separate part of the mall from the main hotel rooms and restaurant. The 6th floor restaurant had a nice view and a good breakfast.

The Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Easy to talk to. The location was a hard one to find and we had to park our car quite a distance away but can't do much about that. We did enjoy the location to much of the town. The Hotel itself was very clean and well run. The area around it we weren't as comfortable with.

Celebrating 45th anniversary Staff went the extra mile to make sure we had a great time. Room was exceptional ,very clean and had everything needed for a relaxing break.Bed was very comfortable 😌 and breakfast delicious.

Sadly both my Wife and I came away with bites after being in the bed and there was a faulty fire alarm which went off in the night for which we had to call reception for. We were told the fire alarm was faulty due to a wire and no one had come out to fix it. We were concerned it would not go off if there was a real fire. Not impressed or was it IHG standard

Lovely stay

We stayed in the Indigo for a couple of days for a little getaway. It was extremely convenient and served our needs very well. The staff were extremely helpful and we would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Cardiff.

Style and location

I like the location and like the style of the hotel; it's not just a bed factory. A big reason for my choice was a good room rate from selling website. There's a nice little terrace outdoors on the roof - great in the summer. The air-con seemed to have a life of its own with the controls just not talking to the bits that regulate the temperature. Great shower in the bathroom, an anti-mist mirror suitable for tall people as well as shorter guests. Sound in the bathroom, with a separate volume control, from the TV selection made me unusually happy at such a simple thing! There were a few niggles about things that need attention in the room, but unfortunately there was no one on reception to report them to when I was leaving.

The room conditions is fair only. Duvet with yellow stain. Shower drainage is blocked. It takes time for the water to drain out. The toilet seat is very old. Glad for air conditioning and relatively spacious for my premium room. It is walkable to restaurants, shops and castle.
