Majority of staff was seemingly indifferent to needs and wants and not knowledgeable about questions about local area. Did not like the fact that I purchased Insurance in the event plans changed and they did with 2 of the people traveling with us as they had to leave a day early. Hotel couldn't help, Expedia couldn't help and Insurance rep said on two occasions they'd ask hotel to assist. Nothing. Did learn that I only needed the other room for 2 nights instead of three until 2 days prior to traveling.

Convenient and close to just about everything

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lobby was clean and welcoming. Room was facing downtown (cool view), but it also got loud when people decided to speed by the NASCAR museum. Also the in-room fan was excessively loud, so I just turned it off.

I wish the $35 parking garage fee would’ve been disclosed from the outset. They are so greedy, afraid you will book else where so that is slipped up on your bill with incidentals, without your full knowledge. Also to my point of greedy, free coffee and a tart to go but $2 dollars if you drink a bottle of water in the room. There was a public parking lot across the street, but was told we couldn’t use it, why? It’s used by others, let me pay the $5 fee and mind your own business, let me mind mine. Her reply, you can cancel your booking and go somewhere else. What an outstanding reply to gain customer retention. But this is an entitled culture we live in, which means respect and courtesy are no longer valid concerns for anyone but the “me crowd”.

Excellent service

The place was in a very good area. You could walk to everything. The building was clean. The only problem we had was that the sink was stopped up, but they fixed it right away. I did ask for an adjoining room because we had guess that came along, but they could not give me an adjoining room, but they placed us on the same floor. We did not see an indoor pool, neither did we ask, but it was something that if it was visible, we would have gone. The breakfast was good. The people at the front desk were wonderful. They were very friendly and accommodating if what we had asked for was available. The area was fantastic. All the food restaurants they had were numerous and we had a balls.
