The whole south side of the south island lost power, but these guys set up a generator to provide hot showers, and wifi was on before the power was. They have a full range of amenities, and let me upgrade easily when I realized I didn't have my own bathroom. Right across from the lake, and 20 minutes from a hiking trail through the rain forest

Stay Dates: Checked in on 6th October Location: Te Anau I was very disappointed with my stay for several reasons: Upon arrival, it was raining heavily, and my assigned room was located far from the reception. As I didn’t have a car, I requested a room closer to the reception for convenience, but was told that the property was fully booked. Unfortunately, no assistance was offered to help us with our luggage in the rain. The room had a noticeable smell when we first entered, which made the stay unpleasant from the start. On the second day, I informed the reception that the TV in our room was not working properly (poor signal/unclear picture). I was told it would be checked, but when we returned in the evening, nothing had been done. The area did not feel very secure. We left our umbrella outside on the bench, and by the next morning, it was gone. Since it had been raining consistently during our stay, this caused further inconvenience as we had to walk in the rain without any protection. According to the room information file, guests could request additional amenities from reception. However, when I asked for more milk and coffee (which had not been replenished in our room), I was questioned and told to buy milk from the shop instead. Overall, the reception staff were not welcoming. I felt scrutinized and micromanaged every time I approached them with a query. The general attitude was unfriendly and unhelpful. This was not the level of service or hospitality I expected.

This unit suited us admirably. It was clean and inviting. In spite of the strong winds we were secure. Loved the view. As I am mobility limited, I found the unit easy to reach with the ramps, and move around in.

This property is ancient and for the money charged it’s not value at all! Entire property looks tired, begging for a facelift and then the staff could at least have a smile on their face when guests arrive to check in! Didn’t like this property one bit!

Didn't like the unit we stayed in. Was too small for 3 people to be comfortable in. The couch could only seat 2 people. The tv reception was poor and the kitchen cupboard wouldn't close. The unit appeared to be very old and not well maintained, also just lacked basic comforts like bedside tables and no place in the bathroom to sit your toiletries while showering.

We always stay at Lakeview when we visit Te Anau for a hiking adventure. Typically, we stay in a cabin without a toilet, which is usually fine. However, because we had just come off a trip to Luxmore hut and the weather was atrocious, we upgraded to a room with a bathroom. Best decision ever! Love your work team Lakeside.

The location is excellent with the view from the units across Lake Te Anau to the mountains is probably the best in town. It is an easy walk to town and the Reception team are very friendly and efficient.
