I was unpleasantly surprised to be informed, AFTER I booked and paid for the stay, that the hotel would impose at check-in a $100 "hold" on my credit card for unspecified "incidentals." Then, when I actually checked in, I was told the "hold" would be an actual $100 CHARGE that would be refunded "in three to five days" after checking out if there were no incidentals to be paid.
This was an unpleasant surprise that should have been fully and accurately disclosed in the "all-in" pricing on the front end. I might still have booked the room anyway, but the fact that this vaguely described charge to my credit card was not revealed until after I booked the trip and was more than the quoted rate for the room feels like a sleazy bait and switch that leaves a bad impression of this brand. The property itself was quite nice. Why spoil it with extra charges that are not fully disclosed prior to booking?
Also, at checkout I was told that I would receive a receipt from Expedia. As of today, two days later, I still haven't received a receipt for my stay, so I still don't know what, if any, additional charges might have been imposed.
