I really enjoyed my stay here! I love that the hotel still has so many historic features but the rooms are completely upgraded. I did put it as “quiet” from the standpoint that I didn’t hear much from other residents but you do hear the train going by often. I personally enjoyed that part, it add to the charm of the city, but to some that might be annoying. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect location for conference, restaurants, & sight-seeing. This is my fourth year bringing university students to stay while at research conference. It’s comfortable, quirky in its history, has great location on N Michigan Ave, and fastest elevator.

Great stay.

I really enjoyed the hotel. I loved how they kept the old doors, but had modern amenities. When I arrived I did not have any plans, but I noticed there was an opera playing and it was put on by the school and to be able to see students put on an opera in a historic building is something you don't don't get to do in any other hotel.

Tired hotel in need of attention

The hotel is well located with access to the lake front and restaurants, as well as the convention centre, but it is very tired. My shower didn’t work on the first day and the water entering the bath tub was brown. My safe wasn’t working either. They managed to fix the shower but never got round to sorting out the safe

I typically love staying here, my only complaint this trip was that the location of the room I was in was more noisy than previous rooms that I had stayed in at the same hotel on prior trips. The hallway noise and noise coming from other rooms was loud enough to wake me up.
