Safety concern

The staff was indeed terrible. They should not be in hospitality business. I was opening a fridge and a wooden cabinet door covering the fridge fell on my leg. It almost landed on my toes but I quickly moved so it fell on my right leg near the knee. I still have dark bruise on my right leg. Since the incidence was not a major safety matter, I called the front desk and asked for someone to fix the fallen cabinet door and check other rooms' doors too. They were lucky that it happened to me rather than an old frail person. 5 days later from the accident I still have bruises on my leg. What troubles me is they didn't seem to think it was a serious accident. If I were them, I would have offered something to the guest just to make the guest feel cared for. They didn't offer me a dinner ticket or a bottle of water. If a similar accident happened at a different hotel, they would have either upgraded me to a better room or dinner coupon at their restaurant to ensure that the guest's bad experience is replaced with good memories.

The property was nice and I liked that a restaurant was conveniently located within the hotel. The breakfast wasn't the best. They provided eggs with shredded cheese, sausage, and potatoes. I would have liked for the menu to alter at least every other day. Maybe changed the meat, provide grits and/or oatmeal, yogurt etc.

My stay was very good. I did not spend a lot of time in the hotel but it worked for me as far as the price. It was an older hotel but the tile work in the bathroom was fabulous but some parts were dated but once again I did not want to spend. A lot of money for housing. It worked for me.

1 star - for the good reception staff. The rest is just awful. Bad and very tasteless food for breakfast - deduct one point. Completely blocked windows, no ventilation - deduct one point. The price of the room is highly overpriced and does not correspond to the size of the rooms (they are tiny) - deduct one point. No lighting in the room (two dim bulbs per room) - deduct one point.
