This hotel is right in the city centre and close to all the shops. The room was not large but storage space under the bed means all luggage can be stowed there. Tiny bathroom but very good shower. Would definitely stay here again.

Room was in good condition however of all the hotels we stayed in whilst in NZ this was by far the smallest. The shower/ bathroom was a pod but very compact!!

I checked in late between 9.30-10.00pm, went to hop in the bed and pull the blanket back, only to find out the bed look slept in. The sheets were muffled and not tucked in correctly. I felt like I was in someone's room which made the whole experience feel dirty. So disappointed. The only reason for not giving one star was because of how quickly the staff rectified the situation and placed me in a different room. Sad really ....

Convenient central location on Cashel street, close to restaurants, shopping, tourist attractions. Rooms are small but comfortable with everything you need for a comfortable rest. Good breakfast! Staff are friendly and accommodating, however will only allow you stay past 10am if you agree to pay an hourly rate for each hour you stay past 10am.

BreakFree hotel is next to Lululemon shop on the main shopping streets. We managed to park our car right in front of the hotel overnight without having to pay the night parking since we arrived after 10pm in Christchurch. Next morning - we paid an hr parking since the charge started from 9am. We had 3 rooms booked in different configurations. 1 was really tiny without windows so it was impossible to open the luggage. 2nd room was 2 single beds and also tiny. My 3rd room has a big bed, tiny windows. The bedsheets on my bed - had many hairs. Hairs of different types. As it was late, I brushed it off without complaints. Toilet was a challenge as it was a small cubicle and I was tiny at 5ft 1 only ! Breakfast was typical but the coffee machine was not very good. Overall it is a modest budget priced hotel.

Our room was spacious and generally nicely appointed; however, it lacked storage space. No dresser, shelves or drawers in the bathroom. This meant that we heaped piles of clothes on the two chairs meant for casual seating. Otherwise, the hotel was great! Friendly and helpful staff, solid breakfast, luggage storage, and good dinner options on the nights we didn’t feel like going out in search of food. The hotel is also EXTREMELY well located in the CBD, which is very walkable. We would stay here again if in Christchurch.
