SOVA was a great experience overall and included everything I needed. While I was mainly only at my hotel room for sleeping (as I was out and about during my most of my stay), the accommodations were comfortable and clean. The lobby area was perfect - including a bar, where I met several other travelers and had a great time conversing. There was also live music (Thursday’s) which was amazing, and featured local talent. The area is conveniently located - within walking distance of all of downtown, and surrounding areas such as Deep Ellum and Uptown. Overall, I highly recommend staying at SOVA if you are looking for a social experience, with a clean and cozy room to rest and retreat into at the end of the day.

My room is in the tiny side but functionable, new, clean and very modern. The loby and the staff is great and the location is also good. It feels like is new. My room doesn't have windows but still I like it for one night.

The price was better than a regular hotel -- but be aware, these are very small rooms. OK for 1 person, probably not 2 (my wife and I got in each other's space -- and the bed doesn't allow for entrance on both sides. No window and a small AC unit (near the ceiling) that makes a fair amount of noise. 1 set of towels and well-used pillows. Very little storage space - no suitcase rack and no drawers. 4 or 5 open shelves (about 5" in depth). Internet TV only (lots of channels though). Paid parking (about $11/day). No refrigerator. Lots of young people -- and the "hidden" speakeasy (3rd floor where we were) blares music and noise till after 11pm on the weekend. Bar in the lobby too. Paid coffee in the morning (about $4). Nice and clean, staff were responsive -- great for a simple quick stay -- not for several days.

Pros: Accessibility to downtown and Deep Ellum was great. The staff were very friendly. Nice lobby area. There is a parking lot directly across the street. The street is pretty quiet and safe. There's a highly rated speakeasy at the hotel if that's your thing. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Cons: The power went off in the room twice during my stay. The staff were helpful to get it back on, but it was frustrating. It can be loud when other guests walk by and the rooms are obviously small and close so I suggest having a background noise app on your phone or noise machine to drown it out.

Hotel was in an okay location. Parking across the street was okay as well. The walls were not the most sound-proofed and TV channels were not great. All of that said, the service was amazing and the room was clean and had everything I needed.
