The initial room we were assigned at the end of the hallway on the first floor stank so bad that we had to request another. It was located next to an area that looks to be under renovation, but I would bet money that the rooms in that area suffered recent flood damage because it smelled like the room had been wet and not properly cleaned/ventilated. The next room on a different floor was clean and the bed was comfy, so that was nice. You get what you pay for, so we knew this hotel was nothing fancy going in, but we would expect the bare minimum amenity of a continental breakfast, at least. This was not offered, and that was a bummer. Not sure why they have a whole dining area outside the lobby with no continental breakfast offered, unless the kitchen where food is prepared is not up to code due to what we suspect as flood damage from rainwater. Aside from that, the young man who checked us in could have been nicer. He wasn’t rude, he just wasn’t very welcoming. Very mono-toned and just going through the motions. Please do not sell flood damaged rooms that have not been properly and fully restored and please coach staff on being pleasant and welcoming for a better overall experience.
